We were two couples in their seventies who rented this apartment for a fortnight. The apartment was exactly as described: absolute waterfront with exceptional 180 degree views up and down the lake, very well furnished, very secure with keyed access via elevator (as well as off-street entry), clean and well-maintained. The owner and his wife are charming and helped settling-in, including setting up the TV/DVD/Sound/WiFi systems. There is an excellent booklet giving detailed information on all appliances, thing to do, ferries, etc. We would definitely recommend this property to family and friends. A major reason for this, apart from the excellent accommodation, is the apartment's location in the charming village of Argegno. The apartment is next door to the town's main church and less than 200 metres from the main square. Access to the apartment (and its underground parking) is through an electronically controlled gate from the lake-front parking area in front of the church. This is not entirely obvious on arrival, but works well. We ate in four good restaurants in the town. The best, La Piazzetta, was very good indeed. The restaurants also provided us with take-away pizza. There was an excellent bakery (up one of the narrow streets) where we got croissants for breakfast, a small shop that sold everything from cheese, ham, butter, jam, tea, coffee, wine, toilet paper, etc., an exceptional ice cream shop in the main square, and a very jolly wine bar (Enoteca). There is a good market every Monday in the parking area near the apartment.
The Ferry services (both fast and normal) are frequent to all parts of the central Lake (Bellagio, Varenna, Tremezzo, etc., as well as Como). We did not have a car (parking is a nightmare) and used the excellent ferries every day. The GreenWay del Lago behind Tremezzo is worth the walk if you are into walking. The weather was fine and warm. Not too hot (September). Our holiday was memorable and worth every penny.
