FANTASTIC HOME IN A WONDERFUL LOCATION

5 of 5
Villa dei Cipresi is everything thing you are looking for and more. We were a group of nine adults. The house was large enough for everyone to have their own space but also spend time together. With two kitchens, multiple outdoor eating areas and a fantastic dining room, we shared many meals together, prepared with vegetables and herbs from the well tended garden. The kitchens were well stocked with professional cookware and utensils, coffee makers, and a wide range of staples, including olive oil, spices and coffee. We cooked in the big kitchen and on several occasions cooked outside at the barbecue area which had a great outdoor dining table. We spent our mornings site seeing in nearby towns like Orvieto, Amelia and Todi. Two in our group were avid bikers and spent every day attacking a new hill town. The rest of us were happy to visit those same towns by car. The hot afternoons were spent lounging by the beautiful pool. After leisurely dinners, we walked into the little town of Lugnano in Teverina on the hill to enjoy the nightly activities during the Feast of the Assumption festival. The town had a very nice bakery, and the local people were very friendly. There are also two grocery stores within a five minute walk from the house, which made last minute shopping or a quick run for more wine very convenient. We debated extensively about whether to rent in the countryside or near town, and we discovered that the convenience of being in town cannot be understated. Still once you stepped inside the gate of the property and were surrounded by the beautiful gardens and tress, it felt quiet and peaceful as if you were in the country. Villa dei Cipresi really provided the best of both options. The owners of the house have spent much time and effort to restore it, and it is beautiful while still very comfortable. They live next door and provided a delicious welcome dinner our first night. They were available quickly when needed but did not impose in any way. The property was cared for by a gardener who came in the very early mornings before any of us were awake. Villa dei Cipresi exceded all of our expectations and we could not have been happier with our choice. We highly recommend it and look forward to the day that we might return.

MODERN AMENITIES WITH AN OLD WORLD FEEL....

5 of 5
This was my first time to Umbria after having stayed in Tuscany 3 years ago. This villa provides a spectacular view in a recently built villa with modern amenities such as a washer and dishwasher and screens on the windows which are rare in most Italian villas. We spent time enjoying the pool and the 500 year old olive trees on the grounds of the original farmhouse, as well as venturing into the charming town of Penne. This villa is comfortable , quiet and picturesque, and is driving distance from Perrugia, Deruta, the Mediterranean, and a train ride to Rome. The kitchen is well stocked, with upscale appliances and the ping pong table provided entertainment for everyone old and young. I would highly recommend this lovely villa to anyone who will find it far above standard compared to most villas. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation here and plan to visit again.
