                              Recent Amalfi Coast Reviews

Stunning location, what you see is what you get!

                              4 of 5
When I was searching for somewhere to stay for our visit in October 2012, I hesitated to take the final step and book this villa as there was no reviews; there was no reason to worry. Now a friend is now wishing to visit the Amalfi Coast and has asked for a recommendation and I notice there is still no review for this lovely villa. This villa is perfectly located just north of Minori right on the waterfront, about a 7 minute easy walk (no footpath) of this little village. The villa is spacious and perfectly clean and the photos are a true representation of what you will experience. Our family loved the private swimming platform, only about 70 steps down from the villa - dive straight into the beautiful clear ocean and lounge blissfully on the sun loungers. The villa is spacious and includes all the mod cons. The villa is shared with the other owners who stay on occasion in the villas above and below - don't let this put you off as you are practically unaware that they are there and afford you your privacy. Notably, you are located below the road level and therefore won't be irritated by the constant 'beeping' of the local buses as they travel past; very little road noise can be heard. The local Sita bus stop is closeby and there are a number of small markets in Minori including a fruit and vegetable shop and a number little restaurants. Don't bring your car as you can easily explore all the coast has to offer using the local buses including booking your visit to Pompeii in the local travel agency and ferries located at Sorrento for trips to Capri. My husband and I and our two teenage sons stayed for two weeks in this villa and enjoyed every day, swimming, visiting the nearby coastal towns, eating al fresco on the patio, enjoying italian wine and daydreaming in the private gardens. We enjoyed our stay very much and would stay at this villa again as it has the right combination needed for a very enjoyable, convenient stay.

                              Stunning Views

                              5 of 5
We stayed at this property the first week of May 2014. The provided pictures accurately depict the property and its furnishings. It is not a stand alone villa, but more in the nature of a portion of a larger premises (it is a little hard to describe, as a calling it an apartment is not quite accurate either). In any event, it gives the place an “ authentic” local feel. As stated in the description, there is a private patio area as well as balconies off the main bedroom and living room. The views are stunning and will take your breath away. The third bedroom is separated from the main quarters, 10 or 15 steps down with a separate entrance. As clearly stated, the property is not suitable for anyone who has difficulty with steps (102 of them). However, I am over 60 and had no problems whatsoever with them. The GAS Bar is located at the bottom of the steps, where you can buy tickets and take the bus to town. There is a roof top restaurant at the GAS Bar which has good casual food. The roof top views at the restaurant rival any in town. We walked to town. It is about a 20 to 30 minute downhill walk. Probably faster if you don’t frequently stop to take pictures or take in the view. You do have to walk on the side of the road in several areas where there is no walkway. This was not an issue, although I would not do the walk in the dark even though we did see others on the road after dark. When you come to the first tunnel, veer to the walkway on the right and you will come to steps that will lead you right to Amalfi’s waterfront. We took taxis back (the uphill walk would undoubtedly be harder). For 5 people the taxi cost was usually Euros 15. Since this was our first visit to the area, we were out most of the time. I wish we could have spent more time just sitting on the patio drinking limoncello and taking in those beautiful views. Next time! I would happily return to this property again.

                              Wonderful Seaside property in Amalfi

                              4 of 5
We rented the two apartments for our family (top and bottom, separated by about 20 external stairs). The owners stay in the middle flat but we rarely saw them, so privacy was not an issue. They offered to let us pick a few of the lemons growing on the property, which was a treat for us. They knew from our passport info that our daughter was having a birthday that week- Lena (owner) actually surprised her with a homemade and delicious tiramisu cake! The flats were very clean and well maintained. Kitchen was designed for light cooking only (countertop oven). Two of the three beds were very hard, which I found uncomfortable. It was fabulous to be able to go down the steps to jump in the water. There was a ladder to get back up- property is not suitable for young children. I am in my 50s and managed the many steps just fine. The property, including the car parking, is gated. We parked our car and bused to the nearby towns. SITA bus tickets are available from the gas station almost across the road and the bus stop is within 50' of the property. Wonderful property with lovely views of the sea and a great location from which to explore the Amalfi coast.
