Perfect Dinlge Peninsula Vacation

5 of 5
This is an incredible home in a wonderful location. It was truly a fantastic home for a relaxing vacation on the Dingle Peninsula. We had eight adults for a week and had plenty of space. Each couple was very pleased with the sleeping accommodations. The kitchen was spacious and the sun room was wonderful. The house is in excellent shape and very clean. There are great views of Smerwick Harbor and the Three Sisters. We loved the location and enjoyed hiking, golfing, exploring the Dingle Peninsula, and visiting the Blaskets. We mostly cooked for ourselves, but did have excellent dinners at TP's Pub and The Old Pier. We met a number of locals that were incredibly friendly and helpful. All of our interactions with the owner Catherine, the house manager Fidelma, and the maintenance man Tony, were great. They were all helpful and knowledgeable. Everything was handled very professionally. You simply could not find a better spot for a stay on the Dingle Peninsula.

High quality apartment with great harbour views

5 of 5
The apartment is a short walk from the centre of Cobh. There is off street car parking. We had no problems finding spaces for two cars throughout our stay. Access is via lift (elevator) or stairs from either the car park or street level - there is one final short flight of stairs from the lift. The overall standard of the accommodation is high but the most outstanding features is the view of Cork harbour from the open plan kitchen/lounge/diner and from each bedroom. There was always something to look at from the apartment or terrace (we had good weather and enjoyed many hours on the terrace), including of course the varied activities of a working harbour. We found the changing light and colour particularly vivid at sunrise. The kitchen was well equipped for a holiday stay. Standards of maintenance and cleanliness were high and the apartment comfortably met the needs of four adults over an eleven day stay. We particularly appreciated the excellent communications with the owners prior to our stay They were always responsive and informative. WiFi links were excellent. We can unreservedly endorse the positive comments of other guests. We found Cobh to be a very good base for our break in this part of Ireland. The town has many attractions and amenities for visitors. Cork is a short drive or train ride away. There are some lovely spots - notably Ardmore and Ballycotton in our experience - along the coast towards Waterford and we encountered no problems in finding interesting places to visit, decent pubs and reasonably good restaurants. Highly recommended.

Fantastic Holiday House. Every Bit As Good As The Pictures Indicate.

5 of 5
We had a wonderful nine days at the Doonbeg River House in September and we would have loved to stay longer. You can believe everything that is on the website and the reviews below give great accurate details too. The house is top notch and very comfortable. Our party started with 3, increased to 5, then to 7 (plus 6 mth old twins in travel cots) and then added another 2. Everyone was comfortable with plenty of space and plenty of bed linen, towels and pillows. The gardens are beautifully maintained and secure so the 3 year olds enjoyed great freedom. The welcome from Marian was super and she made us feel right at home straight away. Nothing was too much bother. We had a great holiday and have lovely memories. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the house to anyone and look forward to our next holiday there.
