We spent the month of May at this cabin. It had three bedrooms, an open concept space for the livingroom, dining and kitchen. Everything you would need except groceries is in the cabin. You can purchase groceries in Schull, a short distance away and is a pleasure to visit. Milk, bread and small essentials are available in Goleen which is just down the road.
The hosts Nora and Sean are very gracious hosts. They met us on arrival at the cabin. They showed us around their home. They had butter, bread, biscuits and wine for us.
All of this is just the essentials of a vacation. It is the view that makes this place magical.
The lot had direct access to view the ocean as you are on cliffs, it also has a pier that you can access. It has three tiers of patio. One wood with table and chairs then under that two stone covered with patio chairs and then a third walking area.
My husband and I stayed the whole month but our children flew in for two weeks stay. The day we drove to the cottage with them, we immediately took them to see the ocean view and up popped a seal. They snapped a picture. Magical!
The Fastnet Rock Lighthouse is visible from the living room window and its light can be seen at night. The conservatory, dining, living room and third bedroom have views of the ocean. The side yard is grass and there is plenty of parking.
Barley Cove Beach is just a few miles away and Mizenhead is close by.
We visited in May so we expected weather typical of Ireland but I believe this was a cool spring. We needed to have the heat on at least once a day most days.
This is a magical place where ocean life can be observed, peace and quiet found and an experience never forgotten.
Thank you, Sean and Nora. It was a blessing not forgotten.
