My husband and I were looking to stay in Dublin for approx. 3 months to catch up with family and friends, but didn't want to overstay our welcome staying with family! The problem was finding suitable accommodation, in a central location, which was smart enough for my fussy tastes (!) but also not in a soulless apartment block.
Kavanagh Mews is a smart, bright and airy two bedroomed mews house in a quiet lane, albeit very close to the centre of town. It also benefits from 2 private courtyard gardens allowing you very welcome access to outside space. It is maintained beautifully by it's owner Una, who is also very quick to deal with issues should they arise.
The centre of town is only a 20 minute walk away, although there is a handy taxi rank around the corner. The canal offers a handy local walk, as does nearby Herbert Park or Sandymount Strand a little further away. If you are a rugby fan, the Aviva Stadium is a 7 min walk and the RDS, home of Leinster, a 10 min walk. However the Mews remains mercifully quiet on a big rugby day!
We planned to stay for 3 months, but ended staying for 5 months as we were enjoying it so much!
The only slight downside is the lack of allocated parking. However, with the exception of 2 occasions, we were able to park outside the property for the full 5 months.
