We love this home!

5 of 5
Our family - two daughters, mom, dad and both grandmothers - had a wonderful time at An Teach Ban. This house is absolutely beautiful. The pictures on Home Away are very nice and we had high expectations before traveling to Ireland. When we arrived, our expectations were exceeded - the views are spectacular. The surrounding area - Inch Beach, Anascaul, Dingle... - are all beautiful. If you go, you must walk the Old Roman Road, hike the Anascaul Lake Trail, sing with the musicians at Sammy's Pub, and watch the weather change from Veronica's living room. The house is very well laid out with large rooms, comfortable beds, plenty of bathrooms and lots of windows with great views. One of the most enjoyable parts was planning our vacation - Veronica helped us plan everything from rental cars, great trails to hike, renting a bicycle, getting a chef to prepare a cooking demonstration, and much more. We felt like Veronica put as much love into helping us with our vacation plans as she did in designing and building this wonderful home. We are very grateful and hope to visit An Teach Ban again one day.

Perfect Dinlge Peninsula Vacation

5 of 5
This is an incredible home in a wonderful location. It was truly a fantastic home for a relaxing vacation on the Dingle Peninsula. We had eight adults for a week and had plenty of space. Each couple was very pleased with the sleeping accommodations. The kitchen was spacious and the sun room was wonderful. The house is in excellent shape and very clean. There are great views of Smerwick Harbor and the Three Sisters. We loved the location and enjoyed hiking, golfing, exploring the Dingle Peninsula, and visiting the Blaskets. We mostly cooked for ourselves, but did have excellent dinners at TP's Pub and The Old Pier. We met a number of locals that were incredibly friendly and helpful. All of our interactions with the owner Catherine, the house manager Fidelma, and the maintenance man Tony, were great. They were all helpful and knowledgeable. Everything was handled very professionally. You simply could not find a better spot for a stay on the Dingle Peninsula.

Fabulous Stay

5 of 5
We had a fabulous 8-day stay in this charming home--just minutes by foot from Muirioch Beach on the shores of gorgeous Smerwick Harbor. This was our first VRBO experience, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The house's location and amenities made it a perfect base for the four of us (including my wife and 2 sons (13 and 11)) to explore the magnificent, rugged, and charming Dingle Peninsula (and other nearby areas). Everything displayed on the VRBO website--the pictures, the description, the list and proximity of nearby attractions and restaurants--was 100 percent accurate. The home's bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable and clean, the kitchen well-equipped, and the dining and lounging areas spacious. But, for us, the home's surroundings impressed the most. Situated in Muirioch, a Gaelic-speaking (Gaeltacht) village on lovely Smerwick Harbor, the home is a short 15 minute drive from Dingle itself (with its excellent restaurants, pubs, galleries and shops). At the entrance to Smerwick Harbor, where the bay greets the Atlantic, are the magnificent Three Sisters peaks on one side and the picturesque Ballydavid Head on the other. This wonderful scenery is visible from certain points in the home itself, but become fully visible in all their splendor from outside the house in the yard, down at Muirioch Beach, or along the narrow roads and headland walking trails nearby. Even closer to home are your constant neighbors, the cows and sheep grazing in the pastures literally on the other side of the rock wall in the side-yard. One morning, I sat drinking coffee in the yard and could hear the cows munching on clover and grass just feet away. A good restaurant and two authentic pubs are a 10-minute walk (3 minute drive) away; many more great viewing, hiking, dining, drinking and music experiences await within a 20-minute driving radius. Add to all of this millennia-old archaeological sites from which to explore the area's Celtic past--several just 5 minutes away by car--and you have the makings of a truly special place to spend a holiday. Last, but by no means least, Julie, the property manager, and her caretaker, were incredibly responsive, friendly and helpful before, during and after our stay. When our abundance of electronic devices tripped the circuit breaker, they responded immediately. And, when we left behind my son's Kindle, Julie went to great lengths to research and determine how to get the device back to California. Awesome!
