Fabulous Stay

5 of 5
We had a fabulous 8-day stay in this charming home--just minutes by foot from Muirioch Beach on the shores of gorgeous Smerwick Harbor. This was our first VRBO experience, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The house's location and amenities made it a perfect base for the four of us (including my wife and 2 sons (13 and 11)) to explore the magnificent, rugged, and charming Dingle Peninsula (and other nearby areas). Everything displayed on the VRBO website--the pictures, the description, the list and proximity of nearby attractions and restaurants--was 100 percent accurate. The home's bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable and clean, the kitchen well-equipped, and the dining and lounging areas spacious. But, for us, the home's surroundings impressed the most. Situated in Muirioch, a Gaelic-speaking (Gaeltacht) village on lovely Smerwick Harbor, the home is a short 15 minute drive from Dingle itself (with its excellent restaurants, pubs, galleries and shops). At the entrance to Smerwick Harbor, where the bay greets the Atlantic, are the magnificent Three Sisters peaks on one side and the picturesque Ballydavid Head on the other. This wonderful scenery is visible from certain points in the home itself, but become fully visible in all their splendor from outside the house in the yard, down at Muirioch Beach, or along the narrow roads and headland walking trails nearby. Even closer to home are your constant neighbors, the cows and sheep grazing in the pastures literally on the other side of the rock wall in the side-yard. One morning, I sat drinking coffee in the yard and could hear the cows munching on clover and grass just feet away. A good restaurant and two authentic pubs are a 10-minute walk (3 minute drive) away; many more great viewing, hiking, dining, drinking and music experiences await within a 20-minute driving radius. Add to all of this millennia-old archaeological sites from which to explore the area's Celtic past--several just 5 minutes away by car--and you have the makings of a truly special place to spend a holiday. Last, but by no means least, Julie, the property manager, and her caretaker, were incredibly responsive, friendly and helpful before, during and after our stay. When our abundance of electronic devices tripped the circuit breaker, they responded immediately. And, when we left behind my son's Kindle, Julie went to great lengths to research and determine how to get the device back to California. Awesome!

Stunning views, beautiful home

5 of 5
This is a wonderful VRBO, to stay at, on the Dingle Peninsula, by Inch Beach, in West Ireland. It is very private and about a 20 minute drive, to the town of Dingle. It is also, in a great location, for day drives. The house is tastefully decorated, with striking details and soothing colors. The 180 degree views, of Dingle Bay and the ocean, immediately draw you in, welcoming you to unwind, on the Emerald Isle. Across the bay, you can enjoy a magical, sweeping view, of the Ring of Kerry. The beautiful kitchen is well equipped and the many beds are comfortable, with soft duvets and pillows. The abundance of bathrooms are modern, with plenty of towels and delightful soaps and lotions. This is a spacious VRBO, for families or a group of friends or even someone just wanting to relax. There is a large private deck, outdoor table and yard; plenty of parking; and an efficent washer and dryer. Inch Beach is expansive, a haven for shell seekers. There is a great supermarket, in Dingle, if you prefer cooking, as well as many restaurants. It was very easy to work with the owner, and, her house manager is friendly and helpful. The owner of this house has exquisite taste. We will definitely return, to this delihtful VRBO.

Great location to explore Dingle Peninsula

5 of 5
The house was as advertised by Shelia on VRBO and in her emails leading up to the rental time. Written instructions for using the house and appliances were just enough to know what to do and what not to do. The house was clean and well maintained. There were no problems. The house included a very nice library and the table in the living room was great for spreading out our topographic map for planning the next day's outings. Given all the monastic and medieval sites that we visited, our time in Dingle turned out to be an amateur archaeology trip. As geologists, we really appreciated all the rock accents in the house! The west coast of Ireland is simply spectacular, so you won't have regrets if all you do is gaze at the ocean for hours on end. As the Irish say, "Brilliant". Kevin & Alison
