Peace & Quiet with Lots of Luxury

5 of 5
We spent 2 magnificent weeks at Corlea House. The house was luxuriously appointed and equipped with everything one could possibly need on holiday. Vincent and Mary who manage the house made us very welcome and ensured that we were thoroughly briefed on all the equipment in the house. To ensure that we had no difficulty finding the property Vincent and Mary met us at a local hotel and led us to Corlea House. The views from the house across Lough Graney were spectacular and never boring. The colours of the countryside continually changed with the weather (and that changed a lot!). On a good day The Burren and Galway Bay were visible. There's lots to see aand do in the local area. Bunratty Castle, the Lough Derg Drive, The Burren and the Cliffs of Moher to mention just a few. Be sure to visit Pepper's Bar (Sunday & Wednesday are Irish music nights) We have no hesitation in recommending this excellent vacation rental

AMAZING!

5 of 5
We could not get over how beautiful and peaceful the area surrounding the house is. The beaches are lovely with a lot of birds, rocks and clear water. The house itself was large, clean, and very comfortable. Gerry and his wife were kind and responsive to anything that we needed. Our 1 week at this property was the highlight of our trip to Ireland and I would not hesitate to stay there again (if I am lucky enough!)

Two weeks in the burren with teenagers!

5 of 5
The photographs of this cottage really do not do this place justice as the place is huge and the views from very window are fantastic. We were a bit worried that we would not be able to find enough to do for two weeks with a 17 and 14 year old who aren’t particularly into walking but we need not have worried. We took them surfing which was just five minutes down the road and after a couple of lessons they were confident enough to have a go on their own. This meant we could go and just hire the boards for the day and they were able to take things at their own pace. We also took them sea kayaking in the nearby village and they were able to kayak near to the seals there and see them up close. We went dolphin watching which was fabulous and also we went to visit the Aran Islands. Galway was close enough for a bit more metropolitan life. We also went to every pub in Doolin to listen to the music as my son is a musician and was able to appreciate the different style of music over there. For walking the cottage was also great as it is right on the pathway of two major loops. We even persuaded the children to come with us on one walk and even they appreciated the views. The bikes in the house were good as it meant people had a chance to be independent of each other and could explore on their own. The roads immediately around the cottage were so quiet we had no real worries on the safety front. Sometimes when we have hired cottages before we have been disappointed to find that photographs had hidden a main road that made a place noisy or some other imperfection. This was certainly not the case here.
