Peaceful and Serenity in Historical Burren Home

5 of 5
Just a quick note to let you know how much we all enjoyed our stay at Fanore Lodge, "The Old Barracks". There are so many special moments, but in particular sitting outside in the white chairs enjoying the beautiful mornings, reading there and having good conversation, our afternoon teas and the sunsets. Our dinners when Kim cooked such great meals in the kitchen. I don't know why but somehow they tasted so much better in Ireland in your kitchen! The evenings in the parlor with the great turf fires, my son and his friend playing the piano together in between Van Morrison on the stereo. And the house lit up so beautifully at night with the candles and the hurricane lanterns in the windows. And croquet in the side yard. Walking to mass on Sunday morning. All such special memories!!! Thank you again. We hope to see you again.

Idyllic rural retreat

5 of 5
We have just left the gamekeepers cottage after 2 weeks of bliss. The house and grounds are totally unique. Kevin, Carole and Emily are great and so helpful regarding things to do and places to see. Kevin is full of great stories and many a morning was spent chatting with him over coffee in the courtyard. Our children loved all the animals, especially the kittens and dogs, aswell as the swing and hammock. My husband loved the woodchopping experience (ask Kevin about this one). We barbequed one night and cooked over the fire in 'the pub' (one of the outhouses) too. All in all it was great. I'm going to miss the cock crowing tomorrow.

Fantastic!!!!!

5 of 5
This was a wonderful property in a fantastic location! We couldn't have been happier there. It was a family trip, including two grown sons and a daughter-in-law and we had plenty of space, comfort and ability to both go out and about and see the West Coast and also relax in the beautifully appointed house. We were footsteps away from a terrific restaurant BarTra, where we had several delicious dinners. We also had the convenience of a large (very) kitchen where we were able to cook and enjoy eating home. From this house we traveled to nearby LaHinch, the Burren, Cliffs of Moher, Cliffs at KillKee, further north to Ashford Castle and down through the Connemara Mountains, we went on a Hawk Walk in the Ailwee Caves site, saw Dolman's, the Aran Islands, seals, the beautiful rock beach just below the house, to name a few of the things we did. It was a trip of a lifetime - celebrating 30 years of marriage with the family! I would absolutely recommend this property and would go back myself. When we had an issue with the hot water, the property manager came over at 10 pm. We met lovely people, had six calfs right outside the door, and a local dog named Ben befriended us for our walks and relaxation time outside. Couldn't be better.
