Will with National Corporate housing again!!!

5 of 5
I was in Indianapolis for a conference and stayed for a long weekend. I was more than impressed with the accommodations. I will look to stay with National Corporate Housing in other locations as well!

Great place for a family reunion

5 of 5
Lovely property right next to a small pond and surrounded by trees--even prettier in person than in the pictures. The owners couldn't have been nicer in helping us get ready for our family reunion, and even wheeled in an extra trash can, recycling bin, high chair and cooler for us to use. The pond is right next to the cottage and has a nice little dock with a canoe we could have used, plus a row of beach chairs and a fire pit with free wood provided. It is a great place to watch birds in the morning, and so pretty in the afternoon for sunbathing or watching the sunset be reflected in the calm water. The living room is bigger than it looks in the pictures and has a lovely 180 degree view of the yard. The dining room is a good size, if perhaps a bit smaller than it looks in the pictures, and the kitchen is bigger than it looks, fully equipped with plates, utensils, pots and pans and spices, with lots of cabinet space and big enough for two to work easily in. The dishwasher is super-quiet and so nice to have for a gathering. I appreciated the vinyl-plank flooring in the living areas--it looks nice and takes a lot of abuse from kids running in and out all day. We brought a twin air mattress to house a child in the living room, but it turned out there was a Queen sized air mattress and spare sheets in the closet, and plenty of extra pillows and towels and blankets. The town of Cumberland is very quaint, and I highly recommend Seros Family Restaurant there for a great meal at a reasonable price. Meijer, Walmart, Sam's Club are just a couple of miles down Washington St. (Route 40) for groceries and supplies. There is a very nice playground a short distance across the street with a big and little kids area. The house is easy to pass by--it is in an area with large older homes and large lots surrounded by some newer subdivisions--look for a green bungalow type house with a green mailbox on a little crest of a hill, with a large white farmhouse with porch across the street. There is plenty of parking, but be sure to tell your guests to log in the GPS address for Cumberland NOT Indianapolis. A similar address in Indianapolis is on the opposite side of town. The family had a blast gathering around the fire pit, and the kids loved watching the horses next door, and playing with the bean bag toss and balls and such the owner provided. Thank you for making Mom's 80th birthday a memorable experience.

A perfect fit for our family, kids didn't want to leave

5 of 5
We had perfect fall weather the weekend we stayed, with the trees at peak color. The cabin is lovely, charming and comfortable. Our boys (5 and 2 1/2) loved running to the porch each morning to see the horses in the paddock, just steps from the cabin. The parking spot for the beach was very easy to find, beach access very convenient. The kids enjoyed roasting hot dogs in the fire pit, we adults enjoyed long evenings with a big fire in the wood stove. Stop 50 Pizza delicious as usual. Took the kids to Boo at the Zoo, which they loved, we went trail riding at the stables, and took a trip over to La Porte to the Hesston Steam Train Museum for a "Ghost Train" ride. The Galien River walk was gorgeous with all the fall foliage, kids loved collecting acorns. The cabin is very well maintained with lots of attention to the small details. It DOES have a great shower as another guest pointed out. Very peaceful and secluded, but also with very easy access to just about everything the area has to offer. The only bummer is that the kids didn't really want to leave, and our 2 1/2 year old seems to think it's "our" cabin. I think he's making plans to return…we will definitely be back. Thank you Claudia, for your hospitality.
