        Sisters Getaway

        5 of 5
My sisters and I stayed four nights for our annual Sisters Getaway and had a great time. The house is lovely, filled with light, very clean, and had plenty of room for the six of us. The kitchen had all the equipment we needed to cook our meals and large enough for several cooks to work side by side. We used the screened porch for evening card games by bringing in two chairs from kitchen. The fire pit had plenty of seating around it and the fire wood was next to the house. We walked over to feed carrots to the horses at the stable almost every day, which was a treat for us "city girls". We had no problems with parking all our cars, since the driveway is the road that leads to the house. We also liked that although there are houses nearby, there is enough privacy that we felt comfortable laughing and singing around the fire and on the porch until late into the evening. We loved our days at the beach, since parking was so close, and chairs and umbrellas were provided. We were pleasantly surprised by how quiet the beach was, even on a warm, sunny weekend in August. We stopped at Al's Grocery (off 12) on our way into town and found everything on our grocery list. We were especially impressed with their large wine department. We drove into Michigan to have great burgers at Redamaks, before spending a few hours at The Four Winds Casino on our one rainy day. A couple of us stopped at The Stateline Blueberry farm before heading home, and we had a lot of fun picking our own berries. We would definitely return to this property again. Claudia was wonderful to work with, and answered my emails and calls quickly. We all felt that we were getting a great house, with plenty of opportunities for fun nearby, for a great price.

Great and cozy retreat right around the corner

        5 of 5
This was our second stay and we look forward to the next one. This Cozy cabin is an amazing retreat. Just a short jaunt from Chicago and you are in a calm and tranquil setting. First, you wake up and enjoy your coffee while watching wild deer graze in the back yard, eat lunch on the porch that overlooks the serene horse farm, spend the afternoon playing on an amazing beach (just a short drive away), and then enjoy your evening dining and drinking wine at the fire-oven pizzeria just a short walk down the street. This cabin is just great. Clean amenities, secluded, quiet, a nicely stocked kitchen which makes cooking and food preparation a pleasure. The cabin comes with WIFI and TV (if you want), but we recommend you unplug both and take advantage of reconnecting with family, enjoying the natural surroundings, and enjoying the blessing of being away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. There is plenty to keep young ones entertained as well - Northern Indiana has many treasures to discover that are short drives from the cabin. Train museums, Old mills, Parks, old lighthouses, fun restaurants, and eclectic ice cream shops (just to list a few our 6 and 3 year old's enjoyed). After unwinding for a week vacation at this cabin, we think you will leave with a smile, tell all your friends about the wonderful time you had, and look forward anxiously to your next opportunity.

It really is as wonderful as it looks in the pics!

        5 of 5
This is our 3rd year renting this terrific beach house - we love everything about it. . . It is beautifully decorated, comfortable, spacious, and is equipped with everything you could need or want. It is a very easy house to entertain lots of friends in, but cozy enough to enjoy with just the family. The views from the house and front deck are great. The beach is right across the street and the private deck with grill is a wonderful place to eat and watch the sun set. The beach is gorgeous and quiet. If you can bring yourself to leave this perfect beach, there are lots of things to do in the area - blueberry picking, golf, antiquing in SW Michigan, 18 screen movie theater in town, casino, tennis, zoo, outlet mall, along with fun and varied restaurants. My family and I give this vacation home, and the Michigan City area, our highest recommendation!
