GREAT PLACE TO STAY WITH FRIENDS

4 of 5
This is a great house for couples. There are three bedrooms, master bath and two other full baths (one in the finished basement). The house was clean and fully stocked. The home theater was great for watching football games. We didn't use the hot tub because it looked like it could use a good cleaning. The staircase to the basement is narrow and circular...a bit treacherous for children. It's a bit of a drive to amenities but sits on a beautiful piece of land and is worth the drive. We went hiking at Starved Rock which is about a 40 minute drive but worth it. The lodge at Starved Rock has a wonderful restaurant.

Beautiful retreat!

5 of 5
We had a ladies get-away in Sept. 2009 and stayed at this lovely home. It is in the Galena Territories, and has amazing views. It was well stocked, incredibly clean, and nicely updated and decorated. The screened in porch was a great place for coffee. There were 3 floors, so plenty of space to spread out. The kitchen was completely stocked. I can't think of anything "missing". If you've never been to Galena, you have to visit the Territories. We actually went on the official Galena "girlfriends getaway weekend", but we never even ventured up town to the main drag of stores and restaurants. The Territories is like its own little world. Quiet, tranquil, rolling hills, beautiful homes, general store, golf courses, ponds, water falls, etc. It's an amazing place, and so is this rental home. WELL WORTH the price. We hope to come back some year and spend New Years Eve there w/ a bunch of couples. And Sandy was very responsive and helpful. Thank you for sharing your lovely home!
