Great furnished rental!

5 of 5
My fiancé and I rented this apartment for several months. The owners, Tracey and Tony, were wonderful to deal with on every level. They were responsive to all of our requests and questions. The unit itself was perfect for our needs as a professional couple looking for a temporary furnished apartment far from home. The apartment and furnishings were clean, modern, and well-maintained. The kitchen has newer appliances and is stocked for basic every day cooking needs. During our stay, Tony added a brand new 47 inch flatscreen TV to the living room and moved the smaller flatscreen TV to the bedroom. The building association upgraded its internet and cable service - Internet is very fast, and there is a DVR, too! River City itself is an interesting and convenient place to live. The building has 24x7 security guards who are friendly and keep a close eye on the premises. During the summer, there is an outdoor rooftop patio for enjoying the city scenes and river activity. When we were leaving, we learned that the convenience store in the basement was renovating to add a sandwich shop and cafe, which should be a wonderful addition to River City. The neighborhood (South Loop and Printers Row) has some strong qualities as well. Target and Whole Foods are less than a 1/2 mile away. There are are a handful of inexpensive restaurants within easy walking distance. I found XSport Fitness Center on State Street to be an adequate exercise facility for the price. And of course, the South Loop provides easy access to all the wonderful things about Chicago, like the Art Institute and Millennium Park. In summary, I would not hesitate to work with Tracey and Tony again if I were looking for an affordable, modern rental in downtown Chicago.

VERY NICE :)

4 of 5
I would definitely recommend this property it was very clean, comfortable & affordable....exactly what we needed: less than 30 minutes to Chicago....depending on traffic, quiet area with stores & a variety of dining/coffee places close by. And the Jacuzzi tub was a nice "extra". That said, there are a few things another renter might want to know; not complaints mind you, just things as a renter "I" would want to know.: *We did always finding a parking space but it wasn't always right in front of the building *The blinds are not room-darkening so it can be very bright in the morning (but if there were leaves on the trees it might not have been so bright) *The only seating is the sofa you see and the two chairs at the dining table *The beds do not have a top sheet and only one light comforter-style blanket *Only 4 bath towels and 1 hand towel no bath mat, wash cloths or kitchen towels/washcloths *The kitchen was well stocked but no sharp knives and a couple more coffee cups would've been nice *Bring cords to plug into the tv to watch movies or play video games. My only complaint is that our deposit was not refunded within 72 hours :( But once I contacted him he took care of it right away :D

perfect

5 of 5
Brett's condo is large, spotless, beautifully decorated, and well-appointed. The four us (parents, two teenagers), were very comfortable. My daughter, who goes to school in Chicago, termed it "hella posh" and "not a typical Chicago apartment" (by which she meant it was big). The location is prime (CTA station Chicago-Blue is about 3 blocks away, meaning you can get into the Loop in about 12 minutes); we even walked to the Art Institute one day (2.7 miles). And despite its being right on Chicago Ave, it's surprisingly quiet (with the windows closed). Brett provides a nice list of local restaurants and stuff; we tried Habana Libre (Cuban), which was great (BYOB, but there's an excellent liquor store 2 doors down - The Noble Grape). Not too much in the way of nearby grocery stores, so if you plan on doing any significant cooking here, pick up some food elsewhere. All in all, could not have been better, and cheaper than a hotel in the loop - VERY highly recommended.
