We had the privilege of staying here in July 2014 and could not have been happier with our choice. We had 10 people (6 adults, 3 children, and a baby) getting together for a mini-family reunion, and Donna's home provided all the comforts I was hoping for and more.
Pre checking-in: Donna responded promptly to my many queries so there were no surprises.
Checking-in: Extremely painless. Unfortunately, Donna wasn't able to meet us on our arrival, however, she ensured that alternative arrangements were made in her absence. I arrived in the late afternoon, while my brother and my parents got in later in the evening after surviving a string of delayed flights.
The house: Exactly as described in the listing. We had one car, so the garage was a blessing given the density of the neighborhood. The kitchen was well appointed and spacious, and the living room just as comfortable. The kids had more than enough space for themselves, and so did the adults. No complaints about the bedrooms (2 on the second floor and 2 on the third floor) either - everyone slept soundly.
The location: We ended up using a combination of modes of transportation (car, bus, train, cabs) to and from the sights we visited (Navy Pier, Field Museum, Millennium Park, Lincoln Park Zoo), with stations and stops a short walk away. As for food and drink, the wide range of restaurants right around the corner satisfied all the palates. We must have tried a majority of the neighborhood eateries during our short stay!
Checking-out: Just as painless and checking in.
The house provided the perfect environment for the family to hang out, and for the young cousins to enjoy each other's company. Altogether, a truly memorable stay.
Thanks Donna! We hope to be back again soon.
