We rent houses via VRBO 3-5 times a year and I used to own a vacation house myself, so the 5-star rating (my first) does not come easily!
The square footage does not begin to describe how huge this house is! It took us 2 days to just stop getting lost in here! This house is not one of those 'investment properties' bought to make money - the owners actually live here and I got the feeling that they do this more for fun than anything else. When they get renters, it gives them the excuse to put their giant motor home to good use. Staying here feels like house-sitting for your rich aunt.
The house has 3 full-on master bedrooms with their own baths, so the house would work perfectly for 3 couples without anyone sleeping in a bunk bed. The 4th bedroom is an upstairs loft and would be perfect for teenage kids.
The 'Big master' is a bit crazy! Two huge mattresses put edge to edge to make one giant custom bed big enough for six. The hot tub is right outside on its own private deck with a pile of wood and a custom-built fire pit. If that wasn't enough, the big master has its own wood fireplace and a granite two-person shower and jetted tub. The possibilities here are endless ;-)
Despite the few steps at the front door, the house is really flat, so it was really good for our toddling 8-month-old. Whether on purpose or not, the house is actually very toddler-friendly. Soft carpets cover almost of the floor - the furniture is plush without sharp corners and there was not a bunch of stuff within her reach to drag down.
The hot tub is awesome - a newer design and very comfortable and very private! BBQ was clean and functional. The Hibachi Grill was so awesome that after playing with this one, I will be getting one at home! I made the best Carne Asada of my life here!
There is a dedicated dog run with a small doggy-door. The large garage is also open for tenant use, which is unusual and very nice to have in the winter.
In the end, this property and its owners are the epitome of what VRBO is supposed to be all about. Please be nice to them and their property as we plan to return here in the future.
Ohh yes, and almost I forgot - you can hit the paved bike trail with a stone from the back porch! We did over 60 miles of biking on our stay. DT Ketchum with all of its restaurants is within perfect morning biking range. With our road bikes, ~15-20min with a baby trailer in tow.
