Fantastic overall experience - very recommendable!

Booking and pre-departure contact was very easy, the owners are super-responsive. We arrived to Reykjavik mid-day and picked up the keys at the owners' home. They were extremely nice and welcoming. We were provided with all necessary information about the house, the area and activities - basically everything you need. The house is wonderfully located in a lava field. It is part of group of scattered summer houses with absolute privacy - sheep are the only neighbours you will encounter. The house is very thoughtfully designed (by the owner). It was only the two of us staying there but there is enough room for up to six people with sufficient privacy. For example, the two bedrooms are each located at opposite ends of the house. The light interior is very high quality and has this nice Northern, reduced feel to it and shows no signs of wear. The house was very clean and in an immaculate condition when we arrived, with fresh sheets and an abundance of towels, which is handy in view of the sauna facilities. All the amenities work perfectly including the coffee maker, sauna and fireplace (there was a pile of wood which was sufficient for the first two days after arrival - you can restock in Borganes). There is a Hi Fi set with fine speakers to which you can connect your I-Phone/Computer but bring the necessary cable (USB or this red and white one). However, there's also a nice collection of records including Leonard Cohen which become our favourite CD during the stay. This is a very cozy place for spending a rainy day inside reading and chatting. The patio has wonderful views (you see the glaciers, volcano and the sea in the distance) and the layout shields you from the wind. The house is easily accessible with any small car and within a short drive of up to 2 hours you reach the Snaefellsjökul peninsula, Stykkisholmur and the Reykholt area. It might be advisable to opt for a 4 wheel drive if you want to take short cuts here and there, though. We were very sad when leaving after a week we spent in the house and recommend this place with no reservations whatsoever.

                              A luxurious and comfortable property

                              5 of 5
The property is located in a truly spectacular landscape which is both peaceful and tranquil. Every modern convenience was provided in a fantastic family-oriented layout within a very well designed, modern building. The nearest town 10 mins drive away has everything you need including a great (and cheap) swimming pool with inclusive access to no less than 3 geothermal hot-tubs and a steam room ! My family really enjoyed our stay at the cottage and would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking to experience Iceland. It was clean, well maintained and the internet access was exceptional! Many thanks Robert and Heidrun for a fantastic stay. We will return :-) We booked this property many months before we traveled. Communication with the owners - Heidrun and Robert at all times before, during and post our stay was excellent.

Great home base for the Snaefellsnes Penninsula!

                              5 of 5
We had the pleasure of staying at Snoppa Rental last week. Edvard was wonderful with his correspondence and he answered all the questions that I had prior to the trip. His directions were great...we drove straight to the property and entered with ease. The bedrooms were of good size. We were a family of 4 staying there, so each child had their own room. Our room faced the beautiful water and it was a joy to look out the window each day. We had Internet capability throughout the stay. It was weak at times, but never failed us or dropped. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, etc. The only addition I would recommend would be a measuring cup and set of measuring spoons. Appliances all worked well and served our needs. Towels were plentiful, bedding was warm and comfortable. Shades and blinds darkened rooms at night. Town is easy to walk and quaint. There is a nice grocery store where we purchased food. We spent 3 days exploring the Penninsula by car. There is so much to do...we could have spent a week! We loved the lava cave and the Hero show at Rif...we highly recommend that show...hilarious! It also tells a saga of the Penninsula and many of the sites we saw were mentioned in the saga, so nice tie in. The walk around the base of Church Mountain was outstanding as were the falls. I could not ask for a more central location to tour this area of Iceland. Snoop a rental is a great base for your visit and I highly recommend it!
