If you are looking for a house in secluded location in close proximity to Reykjavik (about a 30 minute drive) this should be your first choice. Absolutely no need to waste your time by looking any further! The house is beautifully located in the lagoon between Keflavik airport and Reykjavik. From the comfort of the living room, you can watch seals, swans, minks and so on roaming the wilderness. If you are lucky, like we were, you can watch the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) from the privacy of your own jacuzzi while sipping wine (good for 7 people). Some of the tour agencies bring buses full of tourists to this area in the hope of see Aurora. And here we are: just stepping outside of the house and screaming from the top of our lungs from the excitement of seeing such an intense classic Aurora Borealis! That was one of our main highlights of our trip to Iceland. The Blue Lagoon is only a 15 minute drive from the house. We got the best possible deal renting the house with a car. Our hosts were extremely nice to us. Not only did they let us stay in their house but they also met us at the airport and drove us back there on the last day of our trip. They left us a refrigerator full of food to use. They provided us with a handful of information for traveling around. There were 7 of us from different countries and we left behind some stuff. The owners were very nice and mailed it to us. Just rent this house! It is big, clean and comfortable! Enjoy your trip to Iceland!
