Beautiful cottage in a beautiful country!

5 of 5
The cottage was exactly what we were looking for on our vacation. Peaceful, limited interruptions and space from the neighbors as well as being close to everything we needed and wanted to see. Selfoss is a great little town to gather supplies and has several options for eating. The cottage's location was close enough to most of the sights we wanted to see while we were in Iceland, it was also close enough to go into Rekyavik easily. The cottage itself is perfect. It is designed and decorated to be very restful and we were easily at home there. It was also great to have our own hot tub to come home to in the evenings after a long day. Inga and her husband were always available when needed and were able to offer great recommendations for places to visit and restaurants. One suggestion that they gave us was Fjorubordid in Stokkeryri, the food was phenomenal and it is just a short drive from the cottage. We will definitely stay at this cottage again on our next trip to Iceland. We think about it frequently and wish we were there.

Beautiful country house (with ponies!)

5 of 5
Our family of eleven stayed for a week in this very well appointed smart house. It is ell located to explore the sites of south west Iceland. About an hour and a half from Reykjavik and a little less to the 'golden circle' sites. To the south east you can easily reach Vik, stopping at Skogafoss and Solheimajokull glacier. Our favourite trips were in land to Landmannalauger (make sure you have a 4x4) and the ferry to the Vestmannaeyjar islands where we enjoyed a ruinously expensive Ribsafari boat ride! We would all recommend Iceland to our friends and the location of Soffia's house is ideal.

Wonderful House and perfect locations

5 of 5
Great place to explore southern Iceland, to enjoy the oldest 50 m swimming pool as well as the mud bath of the nearby clinic. We had a fantastic time here, being out the whole days and always looking forward to coming back in the evenings to find a very relaxing and charming place, which is also well equipped. We can only highly recommend this villa. The garden, the sound of the river (better than any music, except maybe the Icelandic folk songs ;-) ), was all very appealing to us. The welcome of the owners was very nice and helpful. We will come back (we belong to those coming regularly back to Iceland and to re-enjoy this wonderful country). A big thank you to Valdis and Halfsteinn. Franziska, Christoph and 3 children
