A MAGNIFICENT SETTING!

5 of 5
Getting there was half the fun...it's a fairly short drive from the city but full of sights to see. The renting process was professional but very friendly...Audur made things quite easy for us. Traveling as a group of 8 adults (4 couples), we were looking for both comfort and privacy - the house delivered on both! ...and the hot tub was wonderful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to anyone who wants a quiet setting with a beautiful view. The house is very well organized with everything you need to cook dinners, BBQ, etc. It is well maintained and very clean. The drive is very easy...takes about 40 minutes to get downtown...there was never any traffic to speak of. All in all...a great place!

WONDERFUL STAY IN ICELAND!

5 of 5
Our family of four stayed in this beautiful home near Selfoss for 9 days and loved it! Everything was as promised in the listing. The home is comfortable, spacious and very clean. We had more than enough room and everything we needed - coffee maker, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and a fully supplied kitchen. Wifi was excellent and fast. The "hot pot" was clean and the perfect temperature and constantly filled with natural hot spring water. The house is one of several grouped together on a farm. We enjoyed our neighbors of beautiful Icelandic horses, birds and sheep. It was peaceful but still convenient to the Ring Road, town, groceries, restaurants and the Selfoss pool. We took day trips to Geysir, Gullfoss, Thingvellir, Vestmannaeyjar Islands, the Blue Lagoon and Vik. This was a perfect home base for our explorations of the amazing sights of south Iceland. Customer service was excellent. The owners met us on arrival and reviewed the amenities within the house for us. They were always available by email or phone to answer questions and give recommendations on things to do. They have just started renting their summer home and we were only the second family to stay there - we highly recommend it and would stay there again.

SIMPLY AMAZING!

5 of 5
I am hesitant to tell everyone how beautiful Iceland is for fear of it getting over run by tourists, but this place is nothing short of breathtaking. First, Kristin is the consummate hostess. She will provide everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The house is outfitted very nicely and the first thing you should do upon arrival is open ALL the blinds for the view! A beautiful river in front (we counted the trout feeding on the surface every night over a glass of wine) and a mountain out the back. One of the best hiking trails in the area *literally* starts outside your door. In 10 minutes you are standing in front of ruins from the 12th century. In 15 minutes you are standing over the hot springs and geothermal features that make the area so popular as a weekend destination for the people of Reykjavik. You can easily walk through the town from the home and if you want to swim in one of the largest pools in Iceland, it is a 5 minute walk from the house. It is 1 hour to Gulfvoss, 50 minutes to Thingvellir, 75 minutes to the black beach at Vik, an hour from the glacier Myrdalsjokull and 45-55 minutes from the most beautiful waterfalls this side of Costa Rica. One of our favorite "creature comforts" was the heated floors. There is something about getting out of bed in the morning to toasty toes! We will be back!
