                Simply Breathtaking!

                5 of 5
What a perfect cabin this was! Extremely clean, comfortable beds, amazing views and every amenity you could need (including a washing machine, hot tub and sauna)! It was conveniently located to many of the major attractions in south Iceland and five minutes from a cute little town with a grocery store. We had five people and found it very comfortable for everyone. I believe it could even hold seven or eight people comfortably. Lastly, we found the owner of the home to be extremely friendly and easy to work with. He was able to answer any questions we had. We definitely plan on returning to this location on our next visit to Iceland.

                Wonderful cottage, stunning scenery

                5 of 5
This is an extremely comfortable cottage, well laid out with a magnificent living area that looks over the surrounding countryside, and a kitchen with everything we needed for cooking each night. There were 4 of us - 2 parents and 2 strapping sons and we had plenty of space - the cottage can easily fit many more. The views across the to the mountains and volcanos are stunning and the air is incredibly clean. Coming back to a soak in the geothermal hot tub each night, looking at the views and listening to the birds sing was nothing short of idyllic. And living in a cottage that is geothermically heated was a wonderful experience! Oddny was very helpful before and during our stay, and both she and her parents were welcoming and made everything very straightforward and easy. A very big thank you to them! The cottage is excellently placed for visiting Geysir (where they make the best mochas and caffe lattes ever in the cafe), Gulfoss and Thingvellir; and we never tired of driving to Reykjavik via Thingvellir, as the scenery was so beautiful. One day we drove to Vik (2 hours away) and walked on the black beaches, then saw another stunning waterfall and walked on a glacier ( both on the way there) - a great day. We would strongly recommend Elding Whale tours - we saw lots of dolphins and fin whales, they are the most whale friendly of the tours and they give free sea sickness pills that actually work! (Go 45 mins early) We also went on a wonderful horse ride with Sydra Langholt Guest House near Fludir, which we all agreed was the best ride we had ever been on. In short, we loved Iceland and hope to come back soon and we couldn't have wished for a better cottage to stay in and would warmly recommend it. I wish I was still there :-)

                Magnificent

                5 of 5
This is the greatest place to stay in Iceland. Full stop. Bjorn is a fabulous person, and the home will knock your socks off the minute you walk in, not to mention the second you drive along the lake. To sum it up, my 5 year old daughter walked in and the first words out of her mouth were," I want to live here." If I could praise it more, I would, but I don't know how. You have to see it to believe it. When we come back, this is where we'll stay. Larry H. Rude Washington, DC USA
