4 DAYS IN ONE OF THE NICEST SPOTS IN REYKJAVIK

5 of 5
I was amazed at the location of this house. It's jutting out of a peninsula and across the bay is downtown reykjavik. the walk into town is stunning, and the house has few neighbours, Our taxi driver informed us that one of our neibours was a 'crazy film director', I've yet to comprehend what counts as crazy in iceland, either way his creativeness can be seen in his amazing back garden which consttutes a little bay and recycled sculptures and rock mounds and is really stunning. Down the road slightly is the Art Musieum, across the way is the iceland academy for the arts, the scuplture walk starts outside the door so it felt like we were in an artists enclave. the house itself is well appointed, comfortable and was perfect for me and my 6 friends. we had a whale of a time ! ( without seeing any whales) Takk Fyrir to the owners for renting a holiday home in such a wonderful spot!

A COSY, WELL LOCATED AND WONDERFUL HOUSE.

5 of 5
We (two adults and two children) stayed in Reykjavik for a week over the Easter holidays and we booked this house for the duration of our stay. The house was well located for the centre of Reykjavik and we were pleased with the location. A five minute walk to the local supermarket, the Sun Voyager, the hot pots and the main shopping areas. Despite being so close to the city, the street on which the house is located is off the beaten track and we never so much as heard any passing nightlife. The house was clean and well appointed for anyone wishing to self-cater. The shower room is big, the bedrooms cosy and warm and the utility room has everything you will need for your stay. Just a word of advice. The slightly sulphurous smell on entering the bathroom is common to Iceland due to the fact that the hot water is heated by the geo-thermal energy. It is not unusual at all and should be expected. My mother stayed in a hotel a few years ago and it was the same for her. Apparently most Brits will complain about an 'eggy' smell but which is totally normal! I would have no hesitations in recommending this house and would like to thank Arnar again for his assistance before our arrival to make sure our stay was smooth.

FANTASTIC PLACE!!!

5 of 5
My husband and I stayed here for almost 2 weeks, and we could not have asked for a more perfect place to stay. Walking distance to all in-town locales, but in a VERY quiet area. The house is perfectly furnished with anything you might hope to find in a rental. Roald is a great host, attentive, informative, but gives you your privacy. We rented a car for part of our visit and had no problem finding parking (and it's all free between 6pm and 10am). I am a chef and I LOVED the kitchen! Would definitely recommend staying here!!
