Best week ever

I couldn't recommend this apartment or it's owners more highly. I was a little skeptical about staying in someone's home, worried that privacy might be an issue. Inga and Hordur (and sister, Hildur) are the perfect hosts. Not intrusive, accommodating, and so warmly friendly. They booked reservations for us at a fantastic seafood restaurant (Kopur) on our first night. On our last day I sent an email (although they made themselves available whenever we needed them), asking if we could use the hot tub. We arrived home to find the hot tub prepared and waiting for us. The beds are so comfortable, we slept like babies (with sleep-masks!) The ocean was such a peaceful backdrop to the living and kitchen areas. 1.5 baths is nice - Most two bedroom apartments we looked at were only 1 bath. The location near Reykjavik was perfect. 8 minutes to the city but so quiet in the neighborhood. We considered staying out in the country. Reykjavik is such a good central base camp for exploring Iceland. Grocery stores and restaurants are hard to come by once you get out into the rest of the country, so having the city so accessible was a good pick for us. You won't regret staying here. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
