The apartment was as advertised, with nice water and urban views from different windows. It was an easy walk to all of central Reykjavik, which was much better than trying to drive anywhere in town. We arrived on a Saturday with plenty of on-street parking directly in front of the building entrance, but on Monday night the nearby parking was taken when we returned from the Golden Circle. Unfortunately, we could not get the building garage opener to work, but we did find parking a couple blocks away in a city lot that is free overnight. You have to pay in lot starting at exactly 10 a.m. (there was a police car waiting at 9:55 a.m. to ticket everyone in 5 minutes).
The apartment was modern and beautiful, with a comfortable Icelandic king bed. The kitchen had the only functioning microwave of the three homes we rented during our 17 nights in Iceland. None of the three houses had DVD players. The flat floor shower in the smaller bathroom did not drain well, but there is a second drain that worked on the other side of that bathroom. We preferred using the hand held shower in the master bathtub even though you had to be very careful due to the lack of any shower curtain.
A highlight of our trip to Iceland was our Reykjavik walking tour followed by dinner with guide Hannes from Pink Iceland. Well worth the cost. Hannes also made clear that there is no tipping in Iceland restaurants, which made dining out not as bad as menu prices would suggest. When you charge your restaurant bill, there is not even at place to add a tip--a refreshing change of pace.
