Beautiful Home - Pictures don't do it justice!

5 of 5
Our group was amazed by how gorgeous this home was. Even the pickiest of our group kept mentioning how impressed he was with the detailing in the interior. From heated floors to high ceilings, and the beautiful glass stairwell - this house is unique in so many ways. You can tell the owner went above and beyond to provide a one-of-a-kind home. There are plenty of rooms for a large group, and it was well stocked with everything you need from toilet paper, spices for cooking, laundry detergent, games, etc. Past guests even left some liquor (and so did we for the next guests)! The home is cozy and warm, but also open and spacious so everyone can have their own space. The location is excellent - 20 minutes from Thingvellir (we went snorkeling here which was unbelievable) and also a close drive to Selfoss where they have incredible burgers. We took the scenic route to the airport on the last day (southern route along the beach) which was stunning. We were lucky to have Thorsteinn as our host as he is pleasant, responsive and caring. We highly recommend this home to anyone with a family or large group to enjoy Iceland's beautiful countryside :)

Perfect stay

5 of 5
I didn't find time to write this review, but as they say "better late than never" :-) We stayed 10 days in this house and we really enjoyed our stay. The house is really clean, elegantly furnished and have all the amenities you could need for a rental and more (I really appreciated the amazing collection of cooking books). The location is perfect, just a few minutes walk from the downtown but in a quiet area . If you have a rental car, there is no problem finding a free parking (all are free during the night) and during the day it's easy to find one in the streets near the house. I was a little worried by the check in process but everything went well. Roald is very kind and available to give you some advices (if you need) and answers quickly by email. So, I really recommend this rental and I think we will come back in this house if we return in Reykjavik. Cindy and Laurent (from France)

A fantastic house in the heart of Akureyri

5 of 5
We went for a long weekend to Akureyri and were lucky enough to find this house. It is perfectly located in the heart of Akurery, a short walking distance to a lot of restaurants, bars and shops. We went skiing and the house has a great basement where you can dry your skiing clothes during the night. The house itself is really beautiful, has obviously been renovated a lot recently. It has a cozy atmosphere, so it's really nice to stay in as well and enjoy a glass of wine aprés-ski. If I ever go to Akureyri again, I would definetely rent this house. I think it would also be wonderful during the summer, there is a nice outside area as well that we didn't use at this time of year. All in all - we LOVED this beautiful house!
