Great location to see all of Maui with a beautiful, private backyard

5 of 5
We travel a couple of times a year and almost always stay in private rentals with kitchen facilities. We prefer to prepare most of our own meals. The kitchen has top of the line appliances and cookware. It was well-stocked with the essentials for preparing meals. The bed was very comfortable and the unit was beautifully decorated. What we enjoyed the most was the private backyard with a hot tub that has great views during the day and stars at night. We ate all of our meals outdoors and made frequent use of the hot tub. Besides the comfort and beauty of the unit, we really liked the central location that allowed us to explore the whole island. Cindy gave us great advice. She was very helpful, but still respected our privacy. Mahana Ma Kai fit us perfectly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon.

Great place to stay in maui!

4 of 5
I recently spent 6 day staying here, and could not have been happier. Maalea is nice and quiet, not really a hub for tourists, but has just enough content to make it work. The view from this condo is wonderful, especially at sunrise, looking across the bay and watching the surf. There is a great little section just outside by the harbor breakwall that is good for kids to play in, or in the pool which is very well maintained, just like all of the Milowai property. At the other end of the street is a public park, with a long section of beach good for spotting sea turtles, or just relaxing. The location is ideal, since you can be anywhere on the island in under 45 minutes. As for the condo itself, there are lots of little things that made it great. If u need a corkscrew, you'll find one, boogie board for the beach, in the closet, beach chairs, on the deck, beach towels, in the closet, tour guide on the end table. The list goes on and on, Ron & Shirly Gess have added alot of extras that my friends who stayed a few condos down the street, and paid alot more for, were missing. Having a safe in the room came in handy as well, not that it seemed necessary, but i like to lock things up. Just take a picture on your phone of the combination instructions for reference. This condo has alot to offer, and i found my stay very comfortable. I would recommend going grocery shopping before you get there outside of Maalea, as the gereral store has a very limited selection and is a bit pricey. If i were going back to Maui I would not hesitate to book this condo again, it was a great stay in a wonderful place. Aloha!
