This house helped to make our Maui vacation the best ever! We met with our kids and their families from three different states for our 35th wedding anniversary and had a great time! The house was exactly as advertised - very large and clean. The 11 of us were very comfortable and had everything we needed during our stay. There were plenty of kitchen utensils, pots, pans, and dishes for the meals we took turns making - saving us a lot of $ on food. Also lots of storage containers for leftovers. My daughter brought her Costco card, which saved us even more. There were plenty of towels, etc. in the bathrooms, as well as plenty of beach towels for the pool. The pool was perfect for our needs because it doesn't have a "deep end" so we were able to teach our grandkids how to swim. We found plenty of useful floaties, etc. in the garage to use both in the pool and at the beach.
Originally we were a little worried about the lack of air conditioning in some of the rooms, considering our trip was at the end of May, but between the island breezes and the ceiling fans, we did fine. The pickier among us were given the bedrooms with the A/Cs, which were the ones in the loft and on the bottom floor.
The location was very convenient to just about everything on the island, and the GPS from the car rental company found the house pretty easily. It's located at the end of the street, so no problems with traffic noises - in fact the only "noises" we heard were from all the birds that live in the trees surrounding the property (and a neighbor who was fixing up his house). A nice break from city sounds, though. Phil and Sharon were very helpful and friendly, cutting us two bunches of bananas right from their tree the day we arrived - delicious!
We spent a morning snorkeling from a catamaran, went to a luau, and my husband flew an Ultralight glider in Hana. Many in our group were unable to handle the winding road to Hana - despite the beautiful scenery along the way - due to car sickness. We definitely recommend making the drive upcountry to the Haleakala national park, though those roads wind, too (not as badly, though). Only $10 per car, and worth the drive once you get to the top!
We would definitely stay in this house again!
