A great location for a wonderful vacation!

4 of 5
Our stay at the Palms of Wailea was wonderful! The condo was fabulous, just as advertised. The common area was spacious and very comfortable. We loved the picture window - the view of the ocean, watching the whales, the beautiful rainbows and sunsets. The lanai (with the same view) was a great place to enjoy morning coffee and afternoon cocktails. We really appreciated the opportunity to try a sleep number bed! There were plenty of ocean chairs and boogie boards for our use. The pool area was also very nice. The complex was well-maintained and quite beautiful. Joe and his team on the island were great, very helpful and accommodating. While in Maui we golfed, went to the beach, sailed and snorkeled. We attended a luau, which was a lot of fun. We cooked in and ate out - lots of choices including the Kihei Cafe, the Monkey Pod and Ferraro's at the Four Seasons. We came to Maui for a celebration and it was the vacation of a life-time!!!!

Relaxing Family Vacation with Great BBQ Evenings

5 of 5
The unit is spacious, bright and clean, with a big lanai and a Weber BBQ. We had delicious meals every night thanks to the Weber BBQ! We bought very fresh fish to BBQ from the South Maui Fish Company in Kihei. When they were sold out, our second choice was usually Times Supermarket in Kihei, which has good prices for fish...just make sure you check the "sell by" date on the fish there as they don't necessarily put out fresh fish every day. The parking spot is conveniently located just steps from the unit's door, which makes it easy to transfer groceries, scuba gear and beach stuff from the car to the unit. The unit comes with everything you'll need, including an ample supply of beach towels and paper towels. The housekeeper Simone was very quick to respond to our requests. The unit gets a great breeze when you open the numerous doors and windows. We did not turn on the air conditioner even once. From the lanai you get a great view of the grounds and a decent view of the ocean and mountains. From the high lookout overlooking the pool, you can watch the sun dip right into the Pacific during sunset! The large bed in the master bedroom is extremely comfortable. I slept so well in that bed! No comments about the other bed and the sofa bed because I didn't try them. If you like the beach, this is a great location. It's a 10-15 minute walk down to Mokapu Beach and Ulua Beach. Mokapu is great for boogie boarding, playing in the surf and relaxing on the sand. Ulua is great for snorkeling and scuba. Ulua even has setup and rinsing facilities for scuba. First class! My only nitpick about the unit is the sliding louvered doors that separate the 2nd bedroom from the living area. While the doors do allow you to open them to get a great cross breeze into the unit, the downside is that they provide very little sound proofing. If you have children (or a light-sleeping teenager!), you may find it difficult to stay up late and chat or watch TV in the living area. If the weather is great, you can solve that problem by sitting on the lanai but if it rains (which it did a bit during our stay) that's not really an option. Furthermore, you can't make much noise on the lanai during later evening hours. However, if you have two adult couples with each couple staying in each bedroom, I would imagine that you'll all be going to bed at the same time, so the louvered door thing wouldn't be an issue. Overall this is an excellent unit!

Great property in a wonderful location

5 of 5
This spacious condo provided us with everything that we could have asked for on our vacation. The property is quiet and beautiful. We only had to step outside to the back patio to enjoy phenomenal sunsets. In the morning, we awoke to the sound of many birds. Nearby, we were able to take advantage of Makena State Park and Ahihi Kinau Natural Area Reserve for hiking. We also had a super catamaran trip to Molokini that left from the beach in Wailea.
