Two from Texas, two from Japan--we met in Hawaii to spend some family time. Loved the location, the hosts, the home away from home. The place was pretty, charming, nice (but not so la ti da over the top that we felt ill at ease). It was a place that met our needs and made us want to live there for much longer. I was afraid of being without an AC--I'm always hot--but I was only truly hot one time when I stayed "at home" during the day. Nights, with the windows open and the fans, were comfortable. Two of the gals felt chilly, even. The hosts, who live next door in the duplex, are very quiet, pleasant but not intrusive, and easy to contact if needed. You are away from the hubbub, but close enough to anything you might want--stores, restaurants, etc. I saw complaints on a site about bugs (saw a few, no big deal, it's the tropics, we see them in Texas too), dirt (sand comes in on your body, wind blows it in, can't be helped--was not that the place was dirty), beds (at first I thought bed was going to be uncomfortable, but I adjusted and slept nicely)....I would stay here again. This abode, the surrounding towns and beaches, the North Shore--love at first sight. First time I can remember ditching my watch and feeling at peace.
