We loved our escape to the rain forest!

5 of 5
We stayed at Hale Hubner for a full week and felt we were in a private getaway. We love rain forests and Hale Hubner exceeded all our hopes for a wonderful rain forest stay. In the mornings many wonderful bird songs filled our ears. We were looking for accessibility to Volcano National Park and it turned out to be surprisingly close by. This made it easy to visit glowing night time viewing sites to check on the crater's activity or visit the park multiple times since the $10 pass is good for one week. The owner had great tips and ideas for activities such as the Sunday early morning Farmer's Market in Volcano Village. What fun to taste authentic Hawai'ian food and excellent Kau coffees and talk to the locals. From this location we thoroughly explored the eastern side of the island from the north to the south on day trips and each night drove back to Volcano Village for the refreshing temperatures that 4,000 ft elevation has to offer. We appreciated the comfortable bed, refreshing temperatures and being able to sleep with all the windows open and all the covers on. The kitchen had all we needed-we prepared many meals there, the WiFi service was fast and there was a binder with great information about the property and what to do. As this was our first visit to Hawai'i, we were very pleased with how well Hale Hubner met our needs. The pictures in the listing show the lush vegetation that we could see out the amazing picture windows. The property was clean, inviting and well kept. The owner was very prompt answering questions and informative. I would recommend this property to my family and friends.

Perfect accommodation in Volcano Village

5 of 5
The cottage is in excellent condition, and offers everything you need. We stayed for three nights - which was the perfect time to explore and discover the natural wonders of the Volcanoes National Park (it's only a 5 minute drive away). Note: Be aware that the washer may only be used if you stay 4 or more nights (as described in the house rules).

Such a wonderful place!

5 of 5
My husband and I decided to rent the cottage for the second time! This cottage is a great place to stay and is located just a few minutes away from the National Park and Volcano Village, with great restaurants and delivery. We love that it is warmly decorated by the owners with their own beautiful colonial furniture and antiques. The ambient is very welcoming, in the middle of the rainforest with gorgeous mature fern trees, flowers everywhere and birds singing in the background, we enjoyed the terrace around the house. The hot tub is amazing, under the trees with complete privacy, a delight ... I also recommend having a glass of wine by the big fireplace at night. There is also a great "TV area" as well as a charming breakfast nook by the great french doors. The views from inside the cottage are stunning. I loved the kitchen as well; it can seat a lot of people if you want to come with friends. All the bedrooms are absolutely charming, beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable with nice bathrooms. We are definitely going back next trip, for the third time! I sent some friends there and they simply adored it.
