Perfect spot at Sunset Beach

5 of 5
Thank you Yuki for allowing us to stay at your beautiful house at Sunset Beach. Everything was perfect in the house itself and the location was great. Yuki was staying upstairs while we were there, and although you could hear footsteps at night, it was not noisy or bothersome. It is very private as the entrances are separate. I actually did not meet Yuki, although my hubby did. Loved being able to use the 2 bikes and appreciated there being a washer/dryer. Beds were sooo comfy :))) Balcony is great with a beautiful vista. Overall the unit is beautifully furnished and presented, a credit to Yuki. We do hope to stay here again one day. Thanks Yuki

This place is a GEM!

5 of 5
This was the perfect home in the perfect spot! First and foremost, the pictures and descripion on VRBO are true to life. It is as nice as the pics look...maybe even better! We wanted a place where we could walk to the beach, not drive. Our family has very different tolerances for the sun and heat, so this 30 second walk to the beach was perfect. We could come and go as we wanted and there was no need to load up the car and drive and schlep everything with us. We spent most of our time on the front porch. It was big, the wicker chairs and ottomans were cushy and comfortable and we got to see all the surfers and locals coming and going to the beach. They were friendly and fun! We also met some of the neighbors. They were friendly and filled with Aloha spirit. Made us feel more like locals and being at home away from home. The place is immaculate inside and the grounds are equally well-kept. And we loved that there were high-quality linens from the sheets and pillow cases to the beach towels and bath towels. The private outdoor shower was a big plus and our first stop when coming in from the beach. Very practical. We also appreciated that there was a gate to the driveway and tons of room for parking. We had plenty of room for two vehicles and then some. Great place: clean, cozy, updated, bright, perfectly located and a wonderful place for making memories with your family. The owners are the best. Very responsive to our questions and needs. They even left us a big basket of Hawaiian-made goodies for when we arrived.

Great house for a family reunion

4 of 5
Our family stayed at Tutu's House in September as a mini family reunion. This house worked well for all six of us ranging from 21 months old to 63 years old. It was comfortable, a well stocked kitchen and the best views of the North Shore. The house was clean, had plenty of towels, bedding and family entertainment. The only difficulty we ran into is the trade winds weren't blowing and the temperature was in the 90's. The house isn't air conditioned, so was stiffiling. The manager was called and brought fans over that day, which helped a little bit. It turned out to be an unusually hot week and our family was very uncomfortable in the house. Just be aware when you come to Hawaii during the hot months and are intolerant of all day heat, look for a property that has air conditioning. Also the house sits along the busy 2 lane Kamehameha Highway with traffic going by day and night. Two of the three bedrooms face the highway so sleeping is a challenge. Most of the beachfront houses on the North Shore are situated that way. Being so close to the beach makes up for some inconveniences. All in all a nice property in a nice location.
