Wonderful property, awesome experience.

I loved staying here, sitting on the deck while watching/listening to the waves crash on the beach never got old day or night. The sunsets are unreal, the stars are bright, and the sunsets are incredible. Some friends and I needed a place to stay on the North Shore to attend a mutual friend's wedding in late October. Our desires were that the place sleep six adults, has direct access to the beach, is reasonably priced, and is relatively close to all amenities. This place fits all of those criteria and is also a great place. The house is up to date with new appliances including a 32" HDTV. There is wifi and it has reliably good speeds, I found that 10-15M down was typical. The kitchen has the usual appliances as well as a blender and a coffee maker. The place was very clean and there were plenty of beach towels. There's a laundry room in case you need to wash any clothes and said beach towels. There's a grocery store five minutes down the road and a gas station less than a block away. Swimming in the ocean in late October isn't recommended in front of the house, though the surf was good given that there was a competition happening 400 yards down the beach. Waimea is 10 minutes away by car and has great swimming. If there's any flaws, they have to do with cooking. The knives were very dull, I couldn't find one that would cut through the skin of a salmon filet, the grill is charcoal which can be difficult to light during the frequently windy conditions, and there was no food storage containers so stock up on glad wrap at the store. The deck, which I could happily spend the rest of my life on, is super slippery when wet so keep some footwear on the back deck (no footwear in the house). I'm now trying to figure out when I can get back to this gem on the North Shore.

Perfection

5 of 5
Big thanks to Dali for sharing such a serene and adorable cottage - my husband and I absolutely loved the place and everything that came with it. We particularly enjoyed the bikes and scuba gear, perfect for exploring the surrounding areas and beaches. We aren't the type of travelers that like the big city vibe and this North Shore getaway allowed us to take in the 'real Hawaii'. We also appreciated the recommendations and the fact that Dali was very helpful with any questions that we had. Mahalo! We have recommended this property to our friends and family :) a must stay!!

Sunset Cottage

5 of 5
We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. It was so peaceful. The geckos and the chickens added to the beauty of our stay. We could hear the waves at night and enjoy the tropical breezes. It was a short walk to the beach or a short drive. Would definitely stay here again!
