An amazing holiday with the family. The weather at that time of year was beautiful (31c every day) which was fantastic compared to the 9c we were experiencing at home in Australia. The beach is a short walk away (you can't get down to the beach from the front of the house), and is excellent for kids.
The house was great, kitchen excellent, ice maker, WiFi, ample linen and great bbq facilities. Dealing with Sabrina was a breeze and with the house being off the hwy, it was peaceful. The neighbours were great and would yell out (lanai > lanai) to tell my mum when the tennis was on! :)
Definitely hire a car to get around - recommend trips to Haleiwa, go see the turtles, have dinner at Lei Lei's (on the golf course at turtle bay resort), walk to Waimea Bay, bike to Sunset or Pipeline, go to the Waimea Bay farmers market for some excellent fresh food and some live music.
Trips around the island are also a must. The Waikele shopping outlets were cheap (comparing to shopping in Australia) ... we went a little crazy there buying runners less than 1/2 what we would pay back home. A visit to the dole plantation, Pearl Harbour and the Polynesian cultural centre are a must.
Highly recommend the house and location! We will be back to the north shore in 2014.
