Wonderful!

4 of 5
The house and location were absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed the Hilo area because it allowed us to experience the real, non-tourist Hawaii. If you want a fancy condo, don't choose this house, but if you want a family friendly, peaceful beach experience, this is it. The owner was great to work with and everything we needed was there.

Sunning view with home away from home amenities!

5 of 5
Cannot say enough great things about this property and the owners! We completely enjoyed exploring the island and took in several activities that were recommended by Shirley. The stay couldn't have been more enjoyable. Shirley was so easy to work with and very quick to respond to all of our questions. The condo was lovely, very clean and well stocked with all of the comforts of home. We were there celebrating our 20th anniversary and my 50th birthday. When we arrived, were greeted by a beautiful tropical bouquet of flowers arranged by Grace, Shirley's manager. There were plenty of places to shop and dine within walking distance. Take in the local Farmer's market if you can and if someone offers to sell you a fresh chilled coconut with a straw in, buy it! They chop off just the top as you order it....so refreshing. If we get the chance to come back to Kauai, I would be hope to stay here again, that's if Shirley and her husband haven't moved in for good...

Vacation of our dreams!

5 of 5
Our group of 9 had been planning our trip to Oahu for over a year. Linda the caretaker was in contact with us the night prior to our arrival and gave us instructions on getting into the house. She made it very homey right from the start by having nice Hawaiian music playing and the lights and ceiling fans on in the house for our arrival. She checked in with us to make sure we had arrived and that we didn't need anything. We had read reviews about Honu Hale II where people stated that the pictures can't even show how wonderful it is and that was definitely true. When we walked in the front door, we could not even believe the view through the large picture windows at the back of the house that looked out onto the ocean. It was so amazing words can't even describe it! Our group of 9 had plenty of room and every amenity we needed was provided, from dish and laundry detergent, toilet paper, beach towels, plenty of dishes and silverware, and the list goes on and on. My husband is disabled and he had no problem getting around the house with and without his wheelchair. We rented 3 vehicles for the week and had plenty of room with 2 parked in the carport and 1 parked outside the security gate along side of the driveway. Linda and her family even made sure that they stopped by to put out the appropriate trash/recycle bin during the week so that we didn't have to remember to do that little chore. We had originally contemplated getting hotel rooms and staying in Waikiki or Honolulu, but we are so thankful that we took this opportunity to rent a beautiful home in a more relaxed atmosphere on the North Shore away from the chaos of the city. We enjoyed visiting the Sugar Mill several times during the week and the town of Haleiwa which was hopping with the professional surfers in town for the Triple Crown competition. We also stopped by the Dole Plantation a few times and had the pineapple whip ice cream. We had no problems driving to see the sites such as Pearl Harbor, the Swap Meet/Flea Market at Aloha Stadium, a luau at Paradise Cove, a helicopter tour, surfing lessons, kayaking, hiking Diamondhead, biking, horseback riding along the beach, swimming in the ocean, and watching the fireworks at Waikiki. As you can see, we made the most of our week in paradise and we always enjoyed coming home to relax in the beautiful, relaxing home that is Honu Hale II. Mahalo for sharing your home with us!
