Exactly like the pictures

5 of 5
It turned out to be more than I dreamed. My vacation lasted 7 days. I walked in and my jaw dropped. I did a quick tour, so grateful that the pictures on the website represented exactly what the condo looked like. That's rare. The bedroom with the en suite bathroom is cozy and the bed is really comfortable. That part of the house is about all I would get in a hotel. But, I also had a very nicely-appointed living room, kitchen with everything I needed to cook meals, and a dining area. There are dimmer switches throughout the home and I really appreciated that. The lanai has a table and four chairs where you can eat and enjoy the stillness of the morning, and there are two comfy chaises with a table for your drink, books, phone, etc. The condo is very close to the beach. I'd walk out along the path to the Hyatt and just listen to the waves. Or, I'd sit in one of the swings on the path and chill. Wonderful! The last thing I want mention is the customer service. It is excellent! I locked myself out on the second day. I hated to, but I called the owner Bruce Trubo and asked for his help. First he tried to help me himself, which was truly appreciated. When he exhausted all avenues, he called the management company and they were there in 10 minutes. I couldn't believe it! You can count on the customer service. Thank you again, Mr. Trubo. I will go back. I highly recommend this property!!

Exceeded expectations!

5 of 5
The whole experience has been 5 star. The place is better than described, owners very easy to deal with, very clean and well maintained. All the extra touches have been thought through and included- from the beach wagon, portable crib, outdoor shower, very comfortable beds. Thanks Karen and Brent!

Quiet Sunsets in a Comfortable Condo

5 of 5
When one imagines Hawaii, I believe their thoughts stray to water, the setting sun, and quiet breezes. We made our first trip to Hawaii with these thoughts in mind and were overjoyed that our host's condo met all our expectations and more! Although budget was a concern, we chose the condo because we liked the idea of staying in a place that was not a hotel, where we could enjoy our stay and feel a sense of connection to the Poipu area. The condo was perfect: providing many of the luxuries of a hotel, without the price or packaged feel. Walking in, the white-tile kitchen immediately made us wish we had booked a longer stay as it had the dishwasher, oven, full fridge, and washer/dryer one would need to stay weeks. The bathroom was spacious and included a full closet with lots of counter. The majority of our time was spent in the living room and dining area where one could look out at the Pacific Ocean through the large patio doors. Whether enjoying some take-out, reading the guestbook or just watching TV, we never lost track of being in a special place. I happen to be a bit picky about beds and was quite comfortable in the king-sized provided. Pillows were soft and the linens clean. I don't think most people will have an issue. If you do, go out on the porch, because you will have some great views of the setting sun every night you choose to be at home. For us, that was all of them! There are downsides, though minor, and most have to do with the building. For example, if you want a modern, glittering, palace, they can be had but for much more. This is comfortable and functional with some retro elements I grew to like. One also needs to take care on the driveway: there is a large hump as you enter which, if taken, quickly, will bottom out your car. Finally be sure to close windows and put away food. Despite being up high, Poipu is a humid, jungle climate and insects or rain may otherwise make their way inside. These minor issues are nothing compared to the view, the space, the cleanliness, and the location you receive. It made the condo a great value with an overlook of the ocean you usually have to pay extra on top of arm and leg for the room. I am looking forward to a return trip, especially since I won't need to look for a new place to stay.
