One really important thing

5 of 5
Okay, I read about 5 five-star reviews and I agree with them all. I don't have much more to add, but the one thing that I especially pleased and surprised to find, which I can't overstate it's importance to a wine drinker - they have a wine fridge!!! Okay, I'll add a few things more. Your owners are going to be helpful. Close by too, in case there is a problem, there wasn't though. We cooked every day we were there and the kitchen is great. The satellite tv was amazing, I don't have such a thing at home - to most it might be normal. Lots of options for sitting and eating. Which is nice. I'm a runner and enjoyed the challenge of running up and down the hills in the village. the local beach is nice for snorkeling and tooling around in. They even have a little spot that was perfect for our 2 year old to explore comfortably. Like they say. Bring your food! The local store is ... okay, and 15 miles away. The pictures don't do the place justice, EVEN though the pictures are great. A nice open house where you can open all the doors and get a breeze (when we were there we got some 30-50mph breezes!!). This place was remarkable. Thanks Carl.

Spectacular!!

5 of 5
Simply put, Hale Kai is definitely one of my favorite places! I first stayed there in the summer of 2010, and since then I've been there two more times, and I'm already booked for early 2015. I think that says it all. With 3000 sq ft, the house has multiple "living areas" on two levels, so lack of privacy is never an issue. The location is perfect; on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, which is maybe 20 feet away. The view is unbelievable! On this last trip we saw a pod of dolphins, at least 25, no more than 30-40 yards off the coast, and 8-10 whales at about the same distance. Seeing these majestic beasts against the background of the nearly infinite Pacific Ocean was breathtaking, and that alone was worth the trip! I travel frequently, and I've found nothing that fits my definition of vacation enjoyment as well as Hale Kai. I love it there, and I will be back frequently!

Great Ocean View Home For it's Price

5 of 5
We just returned from vacationing from 11 days of this beautiful home. Waking up every morning to the great ocean view from the master bedroom's bay window is very relaxing. This house is very clean and has alot of open space with a great lanai to view the ocean and have your coffee or cocktails. You can hear the beautiful sound of the waves, in your own island paradise. We visited many beaches while here and many of the shops. We also visited the Volcanos which were errupting. We saw a luau while here, but on the Big Island of Hawaii there is no way of getting Island fever here. My kids found many places to fish and boogie board, and the best part was that the gear was already at the house to use---Shaka Bra--. We've already booked this place for our summer vacation for next year and trying to figure out how to come back for Christmas. "Malekalikimaka"
