Perfect summer at Holly’s Haiku Cottage

5 of 5
It was our 2nd time at the North Shore and we love Haiku as a base to explore this beautiful island. This house was perfect for us and we enjoyed it so much. It felt like we were living on Maui. Holly’s cottage offers everything you need and a lot more. It was spacious, very clean and very well equipped with everything (linen, towels, cooler, kitchen utilities, washing machine, dryer). It has a cute hidden parking space, a nice garden with a lot of fruits. The huge lanai was great to rest, having a barbeque and enjoying this beautiful ocean view. We also loved those day beds, where we enjoyed resting after a long day at the beach. The bed was very comfortable, we had a deep sleep and the neighborhood was very quiet there at least during our stay in Haiku. The traffic at the main road did not bother us at all. Since we also came for some windsurfing fun on the island, we were thankful for the storage space under the house. Holly did a great job decorating the house with all those little tasteful tropical details. It looks even better than on the picture. Holly was a great landlord, she even let us check in a day later since we had a cancelled flight at SFO and a layover there. The house is close (5 min walk) to Haiku grocery store, some restaurants and post office. You have a very short drive to Ho’okipa and Paia. It’s so close to the Road of Hana where you start your exploring trips either way. We loved it there and would love to come back as soon as possible. Maholo for everything to Holly.

Your Own Personal Paradise!

5 of 5
My husband and I just left Auntie Kali's Cottage and we were devastated that we had to return home. From the moment we arrived, Carrie, Jim, Jean and Gene all made us feel like we were old friends. The grounds were immaculate. The cottage was spacious enough for two couples and Carrie has taken care of every detail. We had made several plans to go to the nearby beaches but with our own private resort in our backyard, why leave? Everyone offered ideas for restaurants, beaches, etc. but we didn't even want to leave to go to the store! My husband never took a shower inside our entire stay. He loved using the outdoor shower. Carrie and Jim have spared no expense in making this a place you never want to leave. Their taste in furnishings is exquisite. You truly don't need to take anything. They have everything taken care of for you from the toiletries, to pool and beach toys, to wonderful robes to use every day. The views of Upcountry to one side and Molokini and Lanai to the other were breathtaking! We were so enamored with the home and paradise, that we've already made arrangements to go back next year. Definitely rent this property. You will not regret it!! Mahalo Carrie and Jim for making our 20th anniversary so special and becoming our friends! Sara and Mark Rogers

Slice of Paradise

5 of 5
We arrived at the cottage after dark and our hosts had left the lights on, music playing and windows cast wide open with the soft ocean breeze floating through. It was a perfect welcome, except we couldn't really see the surroundings. But then morning came. When the sun rose we pulled back the drapes and were stunned by the incredible view and the ocean which seemed almost close enough to touch. Spectacular! We spent two weeks in Maui and the four days we spent at the cottage were hands-down the best four days of the trip. We lamented not being able to stay longer (next time, indeed!). The cottage was well appointed, impeccably clean, surrounded by the most well-manicured garden in the neighborhood and Sandi and Dan gave us so much privacy we were able to pretend we actually lived at this place on Hamoa Beach! One day it rained most of the day but we simply sat on the lanai in our shorts with books and the amazing view, enjoying every bit of the warm, tropical downpour. Plenty of things to see and do around Hana, which all the guidebooks will steer you, but sitting on our lanai and drinking in the surroundings was a highlight by itself. Great place, great location--we've raved about it to all our friends, especially those who are aching for a second-honeymoon location.
