OUTSTANDING place to stay in Maui

5 of 5
My husband, family, in-laws, and I stayed at Aloha Aku in Kihei this February in preparation/celebration of our wedding on Valentine’s Day. We are all frequent travellers and all of us were highly impressed with the property’s location, amenities, friendly staff, and owners Gary and Char. Each pair in our group stayed in one of the 1 BR suites- which both met and exceeded our expectations. Each room has a bedroom with a personal bathroom, a fully-equipped kitchen, a living room, and a private lanai area. Amenities included fresh water, fruit, yogurt, and Keurig machines, AC, TVs, free wi-fi, water sports equipment, bicycles, a hot tub, and a community library (complete with DVDs). The property’s beachfront location away from the main road is an added plus- not only does it provide a more private beach experience when compared to the large hotels, but it also makes your stay quiet and restful. Restaurants and grocery stores are within walking distance as well. I can’t think of a place I’d rather stay when visiting Maui, and all our friends, wedding guests, and family agreed. We will definitely stay here again!

Even better than we expected!

5 of 5
Our first time on Maui and we were so delighted when the gates opened and we saw this beautifully landscaped property. It's located alongside a canal and mangrove that is now protected, it attracts lovely ducks and other birds and provides a level of secluded jungle paradise that was so unexpected and wonderful! We stayed in the Coco Palm Suite which is situated at the far left end looking from the beach. I mention this because I think the end units would be preferable to the inner units from a privacy standpoint. Char gave us a warm greeting and we quickly felt right at home. They generously provide coffee (k-cups), yogurt, juices, fruit, pastries etc in the room and the common room /kitchen is stocked with those items if you run out. There are also bikes, boards, beach chairs etc all available for your use. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the private deck sipping our coffee in the AM and sipping wine at sunset! The location is ideal - right off the main Kihei Road but situated so far from the road that all you hear are waves. The beach was beautiful. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were very comfortable. My only suggestion for improvement would be to upgrade the outdoor furniture to something more modern or luxurious and make it feel more like an outdoor room. But this feels like nit picking because really staying here is a tremendous value! Clearly Char and Gary love this property and love sharing it, I only wish they would adopt me or ask me to watch over the property from January to March every year so I could live there and escape winter! I will entertain any offers...LOL!
