The owners were amazing and offered above and beyond extras to us! We met the whole family and the two little dogs and felt at home. We flew in during the double hurricanes Iselle and Julio, and Carrie was able to really put us at ease. She also had a great fruit basket and other little treats. The property itself was beyond perfection. Perfect little touches here and there really put this place over the top. The pictures are accurate! Nothing is left out or deceiving. I loved getting to lay out in the pool on the fabulous mats available to us. We also LOVED the padded lounge chairs and tiki sitting area. The grass was sooo soft under our feet, no worries of stickers like in the South haha. Smart tv in the bedroom where we were able to watch our Netflix. Nothing like watching Dirty Dancing in Hawaii at night. The only downside was the mosquitoes, but that is not this wonderful place's fault. Also, like I said, we came in on a hurricane so that probably had something to do with it. Carrie has OFF and bug spray, so just be sure to pay attention to where that is. Great informational booklets, brochures, and pamphlets are found in the living room. We found several of our activities through those. Also, the location of this place is amazing as well. 5 minutes from Wailea, maybe 10 to the main Kihei shopping areas, 20-30 to Lahaina. Just amazing amazing views, service, and beauty.
And in case you are like me, here are some of the things we did during our stay:
Spa Grande at Wailea: be sure to get Carrie to tell you about it, as she has inside tips. This spa is THE spa. Also, be sure to take your time at the spa. Arrive an hour early for the pre-spa treatment, spend an hour on your massage, and they have showers to get ready for the day and then you could shop, eat, or even walk downstairs to their beach.
Kihei Craft Fair: this is the mecca of the cutesy shopping in my opinion. If you want the higher end stores, head back to Wailea. This is more henna tattoos, hawaiian jewelry, etc.
Road to Hana: I threw up. I live in curvy curvy AR, and I couldn't stomach it. If you do go, be sure to stop FREQUENTLY, bring snacks, get out and stretch. Yes the views were amazing, but I think there were other fabulous views to be had without getting sick.
Any shaved ice stand: Do it.
And I'm running out of remaining characters. Fabulous time, y'all!
