Upon our arrival, our first reaction was to the magnificent view looking out toward the valley and east Maui - just stunning. The cottage was clean and comfortable and well maintained, with a very well-stocked kitchen. We ate all of our breakfasts there during our stay. The owners provided anything we could want for our daily excursions, including beach towels, a beach umbrella, and beach chairs.
Being close to Makawao had its advantages for dining purposes and for art gallery browsing. One of our favorite places for dinner was the Hali'imaile General Store. Excellent food and wonderful atmosphere.
Nearby is the Waihou Spring Forest Reserve, where we enjoyed an easy hike through the woods.
The Romantic Cottage enabled us to escape from the usual beach crowds and enjoy a wonderfully relaxing stay in a peaceful and beautiful setting. There is nothing like waking up to birds chirping, chickens clucking, and cows mooing. We would definitely stay here again.
