Close, Clean and Comfortable!

5 of 5
If you haven't stayed in Kailua you are missing out and if you get to go stay here. The location for this guest home is right across from Kailua beach park - you walk out the back path and there you are. You have 2 rooms, a large kitchen, dining room, washer/dryer, and nice size patio. As it is connected to the larger home you occasionally hear folks but it is generally a very quiet and safe place. The value for the location is wonderful. Walk to Bob's pizza, the Market for a coffee, or Island Snow Shave Ice - our favorites :-) The owners will honor your privacy but also are so open to chatting if you want to ask for advice or directions. Our family of 4 enjoyed the beaches especially snorkeling in Lanikai (our favorite), hiking, and just beautiful mountain views of this area of Oahu. But if it is windy or rainy - remember it is never a long drive to another lovely beach or to Pearl Harbor (recommended). Thank you to our lovely hosts for sharing this clean and comfy home. I hope we never bothered you with our evening gecko hunting! We left our beach-dreaming hearts in Kailua - so if we come back we hope to stay here again!

The best kept secret on the Windward side of Oahu

5 of 5
This marvelous property is aptly named “Coconut Hideaway” as it is located at the end of a quiet residential street on a cul-de-sac. The tropical setting, surrounded by greenery, is enchanting and relaxing. The apartment is spacious, airy and extremely private, and is well situated to take advantage of the cool breezes. We spent a week here during the Christmas holidays and we couldn’t have been happier. The unit is beautifully furnished (and impeccably clean) with great attention to detail, and has all the accessories one could need. Loved enjoying our morning coffee outdoors on our private lanai. The location is ideal; a quiet, secluded retreat, yet close to the shopping and dining options of Kailua. And of course, it is minutes away from the best beaches on the island. (Parking, free wi-fi, washer/dryer, fully equipped kitchen, additional half-bath. . . ) Our hosts Karla and Vic are 2 of the nicest and accommodating people you can imagine. Needless to say, this property comes with my highest recommendation. We look forward to returning to Coconut Hideaway very soon.

Spent a fabulous month exploring the Island from this great home base.

From the minute we got here we felt valued as guests. We were moving here from a large family reunion event. Leilani accommodated a transfer of our luggage and perishable food directly from the other site, rather than having to wait for the normal check in time. Since we were staying for a month we did make several minor requests which were immediately fulfilled. Dawn an Dexter were very pleasant and, in fact, gave is a fresh floral arrangement when they found our sister and husband were joining us for our final week. Not to mention flowers and candy at our arrival. My husband and I are yearly visitors to Hawaii, normally staying in condos. This was our first venture into apartment rental in a residential neighborhood. The apartment is well appointed and cozy for four people, but perfectly adequate with a lanai area great for breakfast and drinks and a large deck with eating area and lounge chairs. Living in this apartment for a month was a great success and gave us a much better feel for the island. Kailua is a great location for exploring the beaches, hikes and having a more laid back experience than staying in Honolulu, Ko'Olina or on the North Shore. Mahalo! Leilani, Dawn and Dexter for your aloha spirit.
