We had a great vacation in Kailua & are looking forward to returning in the not-too-distant future. The loft is exactly as pictured & was perfect for us. Margret (manager) was available when we had questions. The studio is attached to the owners home, but separate, so you don't feel like you're interfering with their private life @ all. January & February are during the rainy season, but the climate is so temperate that the rains are not bothersome~ quite enjoyable, actually. We did do less hiking, however, as the mud was thick on the steeper hillside trails...slippery! At the beach we saw schools of fish close to shore on more than 1 morning. A local fisherman told us the rains bring nutrition from the land into the water, & many fish come in closer to the shore than usual to feed, so we were happy to be there to observe that. The island has plenty to see & do, & Kailua is an easy hub for day trips, though we were content to spend more than 1/2 our time in the area. We had some difficulty with internet availability. Reception is much better @ the table than when sitting on the couch, which is counter-intuitive because you see the router below the TV. Overall the studio is lovely. The kitchen is great for small meals. There's a grill outdoors, but we didn't use it because of the rain (next trip!). The bed is super comfortable. Having the laundry machines is definitely a plus. Thanks to Mark, Robin & Margret for making the loft such a great home away from home!
