Perfect for a Peaceful Getaway

5 of 5
Like the title says, it is a perfect place for a getaway. The owner and property managers were very friendly and answered inquiries quickly. The property managers, Martha and Keld, were nice and very helpful. We stayed in the little studio apartment (there are two other properties managed by Matha and Keld) which was perfect for the two of us. The place was clean and looked to be recently renovated and very recently painted. The building itself looked to be built in about the 1980s but the renovations brought it up to date. Sunrises are absolutely amazing...we found ourselves turning in early each evening so that we could see them! Grocery store within about a mile....ask Martha for the grocery card to save some $. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything a couple would need - we actually ate in most evenings, sitting on the porch, looking at the ocean. La'ie is very quiet, about an hour drive from HNL but a world away from Honolulu. Plenty to see within an hour drive up the North Shore...whale watching, Dole Plantation, snorkeling at Turtle Bay, surfer watching at the Pipeline, etc. Even though this was right across the street from the Polynesian Culture Center, we had no problems with noise or traffic during our entire stay. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a nice, reasonably priced, quiet place to stay and see the real Hawai'i with a much different flavor than the 'big city, big resort' feel of Honolulu.
