We had a great time

5 of 5
Thank you Victoria. The property was great for our family. Martha the property manager was very nice and helpful. I joined my daughter, her husband, a college age granddaughter and two little (3 and 5) granddaughters. The 3 bedroom house met our needs very well. It was so nice to fix simple meals and dine on the patio without the hassle or packing everyone up. Everyone loved the reasonably private beach. The reef 15 or 20 yards out protected the shore so the little girls could swim and play without worrying about being swept away by waves, while the older granddaughter could snorkel on the other side of the reef. Although the North shore of Ohau was low key, which we were looking for, there were plenty of activities and restaurants. We all had a great time. The 3 bedroom yellow house is part of a triplex but that was not a problem. I would most certainly recommend this property to a friend or relative.

Wonderful!

5 of 5
Everything was so comfortable. I was somewhat concerned about pillows and beds being comfortable. (I had not been sleeping at home and was looking forward to catching up for a good nights rest each night.) They were so comfortable. Everything was even way better than expected. The house was even closer to BYUH campus than I realized; but, the house was tucked away from the Kam highway well enough to be convenient; but, still comfortably quiet. The homes location was perfect location for whatever direction we wanted to head ... the Northshore ... inland ... or even back to Honolulu (which we tried not to do!) We did have to time our showers accordingly so that each of us would get a hot shower; but, it certainly was nothing to 'complain' about. Having the beach right out the window, across the lawn??? Are you kidding? Good grief ... definitely having a serious 'readjustment' being back stateside. :/

Perfect for a Peaceful Getaway

5 of 5
Like the title says, it is a perfect place for a getaway. The owner and property managers were very friendly and answered inquiries quickly. The property managers, Martha and Keld, were nice and very helpful. We stayed in the little studio apartment (there are two other properties managed by Matha and Keld) which was perfect for the two of us. The place was clean and looked to be recently renovated and very recently painted. The building itself looked to be built in about the 1980s but the renovations brought it up to date. Sunrises are absolutely amazing...we found ourselves turning in early each evening so that we could see them! Grocery store within about a mile....ask Martha for the grocery card to save some $. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything a couple would need - we actually ate in most evenings, sitting on the porch, looking at the ocean. La'ie is very quiet, about an hour drive from HNL but a world away from Honolulu. Plenty to see within an hour drive up the North Shore...whale watching, Dole Plantation, snorkeling at Turtle Bay, surfer watching at the Pipeline, etc. Even though this was right across the street from the Polynesian Culture Center, we had no problems with noise or traffic during our entire stay. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a nice, reasonably priced, quiet place to stay and see the real Hawai'i with a much different flavor than the 'big city, big resort' feel of Honolulu.
