great private home close to town

5 of 5
Had such a great week staying at the Malulani Gardens home. There were 7 of us and there was plenty of room for us all. We had a party of 4 adults and 3 children. The house is located in a great gated community. All the homes in the community are very well taken care of, newer, and very quiet with no thru traffic. The house is very bright and decorated lovely. We loved using the boogie boards, snorkeling stuff, and beach towels that were provided. The washer and dryer at the house were VERY nice and we used them a lot. The pool and grounds are so beautiful. I even took some lovely senior pictures of my daughter with all the cool tropical plants. Lots of colorful flowers everywhere. We loved seeing all the cute geckos around the place. They especially loved hanging out in the banana tree. The house is close to downtown Kona and very close to WalMart and Safeway. I would definitely recommend the house to anyone who wants a little privacy and room. Definitely beats staying in noisy condo and having to share a pool and BBQ. Bhavesh is a great owner to work with. I can't wait to visit again!

Paradise in the Rainforest

5 of 5
My girlfriend and I recently enjoyed a wonderful Hawaiian getaway at the Kona Mountain Home. The space was very inviting and comfortable; it truly felt like home away from home. The location is a 15 minute drive away from Kailua-Kona, which is the perfect distance to escape and enjoy the serenity the space offers. Between the ample equipment for water sports, lanai, hot tub, and grill, we felt like we had choices at our fingertips each morning as we planned out our day. The amenities are of a very high quality, and the space is very neat and clean. I would highly recommend a stay at the Kona Mountain Home for your next visit to the islands. Especially if you are looking for a private getaway within striking distance of popular destinations on the Big Island.

Home away from home!!

5 of 5
10/2-23/2014: We stayed 3wks at this rental and was so glad that we did!! The owner met us as we drove up to the rental and showed us around the place. It had everything to make us comfortable as if we were in our own home. We ate out twice during our stay as we loved having our meals out in the lanai, watching the sunset/sunrise, and listening to our music (quietly, as there is a noise ordinance). We did not need to buy extraneous things as the owners had everything that we needed. There were so many games available to keep us occuppied but we did not need them as the outdoors kept us pretty busy. There was plenty of windows that we rarely used the AC and enjoyed the rain when it came. We originally came because of the snorkeling but that ended up a secondary issue for us as we enjoyed the weather and atmosphere so much more. We also loved talking and meeting the locals as they were all so easy to talk with and were very generous with their time. We jokingly told the owner that we would love to take the property off his hand when he was ready to sell it. Again, the rental had EVERTHING that you would need to make a perfect vacation. My husband wanted to stay another wk but I told him that he still needed to go back to work (he was not happy with me for reminding him of this fact, but I distracted him by pointing out something to him out in the lanai). We plan on coming back to the Big Island next yr. The rental helped to make this the most relaxing vacation, the people, and the mild, temperate weather took ahold and ensured that we would return. Thank you, Troy, for allowing us to scratch your brain about the possibility of making this our retirement home.
