Oasis in paradise

5 of 5
Dave and Sally's home is an oasis in tropical paradise. The 3 bedrooms have large patio doors that let in cooling breezes, and lead out to the pool and hot tub, and lanai. These areas all look out to the Pacific Ocean. The view is 180 degrees, unobstructed. No other houses can be seen when you are on the lanai! Fantastic sunsets! While enjoying meals on the lanai, enjoy the view, the tropical birds, and the lush vegetation. The house is designed with natural air conditioning, with patio doors on both sides, to allow air flow. The back lanai has a fountain that the birds like, too. The kitchen is well stocked, the linens nice, and beds comfie. The house is well located for exploring Hawaii, and quite close to some really good snorkeling areas. This is our fourth Hawaiian island to visit, and the most diverse. From the observatories on Mauna Kea to the lava fields of Kileaua, the surfers to the coffee farms, the charm of Hawi and Hilo to the action at Kailua, great golfing options and beautiful botanical gardens, zip lines and boat cruises.....the Big Island has it all!

Beautiful home spectacular views

5 of 5
We have stayed in the Captain Cook / Kona Paradise area several times over the past five years. This home was by far the best place we've rented for several reasons. First of all and very important when renting a place in Hawaii you need to have a on site property manager. Melinda manages this property and does it with patience confidence and knowledge. Melinda is awesome! The house itself is stunning. The furniture is beautiful and comfortable. The beds and bedding are dreamy and inviting. The kitchen is a cooks dream. It is fully stocked with anything you could want. We made every meal except for two at the house because cooking in the kitchen with the ocean view was fun and spectacular especially during sunset. The floor plan lends itself to having an ocean view of the Kona coast from almost every room. It is open and bright and the trade winds flow through every room.By far the best feature in this house for us was the outdoor shower. We never even used the indoor shower at all! The outdoor showers are huge, very private, beautifully decorated and landscaped. Pebble Beach at the bottom of the property is very close and you can snorkel, swim, paddle board and kayak without leaving Kona Paradise! Our stay was scheduled for one week and then we were going to stay at a resort but we loved the house so much we asked Melinda if we could stay longer. She rearranged her schedule and the cleaning schedule so we could stay longer. We cancelled our resort stay and we couldn't have been happier. We have already reccommended this property to many friends and we are already planning to return to Kona Paradise in April. For those visitors that feel that the Captain Cook area is too far from other activites, please know that any short amount of driving you do is well worth the peacful quiet, lush vegetation, and private beach. No resort compares to this property at all. We love to snorkel and two step is our favorite spot it is just a few minutes from the house. We also enjoy going to the Volcano and Hilo and staying in Kona Paradise makes this an easy day trip. We go to Kona to shop and stroll also and this is an easy short drive. Hana Hou is our most favorite restaurant that serves great Hawaiian food but even better deserts and it is a short drive south. We have been to every Hawaiian island and we have stayed at many resorts. This was our favorite stay on our favorite island. Cannot wait to come back in April! Thank you Melinda and Cheryl!

Wedding

4 of 5
This house is absolutely beautiful!!! The grounds are well manicured but the nature of the land is not obscured. The kitchen was less then adequate. The old oven with the element hanging made baking a challenge. The bedrooms were not as pictured, had to re arrange to justify grand expectations. Enjoyed our stay, hope owner will update this beautiful property!
