OUR SECOND STAY AT HALE MELE KOHOLA

5 of 5
Returning with our grown children a year after our first stay was a delight. I "echo" the previous reviewers superlatives. The view from the deck is wonderful and the home interior is tastefully done and comfortable. Take a walk on the "Kings Highway" trail south of the beach if you want exercise, grand views and solitude (wear tennis shoes!). We were lucky to see a dozen spinner dolphins when we snorkeled in the bay next to Place of Refuge. This bay also has amazing coral heads and plentiful fish. There is a wonderful, non profit, botanical garden between Place of Refuge and Kealakekua Bay called Paleaku Gardens Peace Sanctuary that is worth visiting. Thank you for the coffee, fruit and a wonderful stay!

LOVED IT

5 of 5
I was a little nervous going to someone's home so I talked to Wendy on the phone and emailed and decided it was the right thing for my family. I have a one and a half year old son so we needed to be home more then other people might and it was wonderful. Wendy had everything we might need...stroller, highchair a little bed for our son, toys and books. The yard was great, we picked fruit and played games. We came in at night after a long days travel and everything felt homey. Wendy picked fruit for us upon arrival and had some muffins and a small milk for us in the fridge knowing how late we would be coming. I really appreciated that Wendy thank you :) Even though we spent a lot of time on the property I didn't see Wendy or Harry very often. When I did they were helpful and pleasant. In fact I never even saw them to say good bye and thank you. This place is very clean, at night it is cool and it is away from everyone making it quiet. I miss it so much already and would love to come back someday! Thank you so much Wendy for your home, help and giving us a good experience with home away from home. hope to come back

BEAUTIFUL AND RELAXING

5 of 5
From the moment that we drove down the driveway to the home, I knew that we were in for a real treat. As we entered in the front door, there was a water fountain, and just the sound of the welcoming water was awesome, I really liked that. The home was beautifully decorated, I just love what the decorator did with the grand-father clock. Cool!!! The most awesome bathroom I've been in for a long time, the jetted tub, and the double headed shower were a plus. That bathroom rocked! During our week's stay in the home, we cooked, cleaned and just relaxed. Our children loved going out on the lanai to look at the view, we had such a wonderful view of the ocean. The home is nestled in a quiet neighborhood, where people just kept to themselves. The grounds were well kept and just emaculate. I really enjoyed the mango tree. I love that the wash room is kept outside. I am also grateful that the owners had beach chairs for us to use at the beach, this is a must if you plan on going to the beach day after day with 3 busy children. Our family travels to Hawaii about every 2 years, and we will definately call the owners and rent this home again! Also, I am so glad that the turn off for the neighborhood was just right of the 11, very easy to find and to get to. 2 thumbs up. or should I just give the Shaka sign and say ALOHA!!!!
