Perfect vacation retreat on Big Island!

5 of 5
We stayed in this lovely home for the last week of our first trip to the big island. This unit exceeded all our expectations! The home is very well equipped with top of the line everything! It was so nice to return to a home at the end of a long day of sight-seeing versus returning to a hotel room. The lanai was perfect for grilling our fresh fish and veggies that we bought at the Foodland Market (at reasonable prices!). We made great use of the games that were provided and enjoyed our family time at the end of each day. The owners beach club is wonderful! We feel it provided some of the best snorkeling we have ever experienced! We were always able to get a cabana. If one wasn't available when we got to the beach, one would open up within 30 minutes or so. We used the owner's cooler several times to pack a picnic, and spent several entire afternoons at the beach club. The property manager Larry was very responsive to all our questions and was a pleasure to deal with. The unit even has a copy of Big Island Revealed, which we referenced a lot during our stay. We will definitely stay here again when we return to the big island and would highly recommend this rental!

GORGEOUS OCEANFRONT PARADISE!!

5 of 5
We stayed at this lovely home Oct. 2009, Sept. 2012 and Oct. 2013 each for 2 weeks. The last 2 times we were there, our friends from Utah came and stayed with us for a week. We did fresh fish on the BBQ that was purchased at the local fish market which is caught every morning then brought to the market. We also enjoyed all of the fresh fruits and vegetables at the local farmers market which is located not far from the fish market. It is such a joy to cook in the gorgeous kitchen with all of its amenities and top of the line appliances. We loved eating our meals on the hand painted picnic table on the lanai. Every evening we would take our chairs to the beach with a glass of wine and enjoy the beautiful sunset. This beautiful Hawaiian home is very warm & inviting. We love the glass doors that open up at the back of the home and in the master bedroom to bring the “outside in”. It is custom decorated and not a detail was missed from the beautiful wood floors to the blue granite in the kitchen that resembles the ocean, wood banisters, built in cabinets and entertainment center along with inlaid bathroom counter tops. Each bathroom has its own walk-in shower. When showering in the master you have a view of the ocean-beautiful!! There were days that we didn’t even leave the property. It is so nice to relax on the lanai with a good book or just sit & look out at the expansive ocean. We snorkel, kayak, paddle board, walk along the beach & enjoy the many large turtles, ride bikes & just take walks along Puako Bay Dr.. It is such a peaceful area. There are many activities to do outside Puako which include the petroglyphs, Mauna Kea Observatory, Volcano National Park, coffee farms & waterfalls just to mention a few. The last two visits we rented a Harley motorcycle and spent the day just touring around the island-a treat for you motorcycle enthusiasts. If you are a church goer, there is a Catholic & a Protestant church on the street. We visited the Protestant one in 2012 & enjoyed hymns in Hawaiian & in English. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. There is also a small market just up the street for your convenience. The pictures speak for themselves, a true dream vacation home. We are hoping to return in 2015 & bring our children & grandchildren to share in this paradise.

It is a very nice, large house.

4 of 5
A very large house. It would be perfect for three couples as there are three secluded bedrooms with bathrooms. The fourth bedroom was actually a den with a bed (no bath) and would be great for children staying there. The main floor was very comfortable and we spent a lot of time on the lanai. It was nice to have a garage. There were coolers and beach chairs to use. The pool was great because no one was there. It is also close to a market. There was a small putting green nearby. The electronic door lock was convenient. We only cooked a few eggs in the morning so I can't really comment on the kitchen supplies. The appliance instructions were documented well. I actually hate air conditioning, however, there were no trade winds while we were there. It would be nice to be able to run the air a bit cooler than was allowed to cool the house down. My suggestion would be to provide a few floor fans to use especially upstairs. It needed a ceiling fan on the lanai. (Again, if there were trade winds it would have been fine). All in all, it was a very nice, clean and comfortable house. We would definitely stay again. The owner was responsive to inquiries and return of deposit.
