ALL ALOHA AND MORE

5 of 5
My wife and I stayed here for a week in April, and will return! The long time Hawi residents and owners, Jennifer and Jeff, have created a little piece of paradise for all those lucky enough to discover it's secrets. The cottage has everything you wish for in a secluded setting...comfy, cozy, clean, perfectly stocked, with cool breezes and lush tropical plantings that have developed over time with care by Jennifer's green thumb. Ask for a tour of the gardens and be amazed. The two owner artisans, Jeff a local contractor, artist and designer with his skilled hands, and lovely Jennifer with her gardening skills and extraordinary cut glass designs which decorate the cottage are both a treasure. The outdoor shower in rain or shine became a favorite ritual. Much appreciated were the basket of tropical fruit and local Kona coffee upon arrival. Ask them for a history of the main house, which originally was a church that they had moved onto the site, and subsequently remodeled into a beautiful island home with very special touches. A quick drive into quaint Hawi town beckons with shops and restaurants choices for all. If you want that special stay, quiet in the real Hawaii spirit, and to create some memories of your Hawaiian vacation, try this special discovery and you won't be disappointed.

OASIS ON THE BIG ISLAND

5 of 5
This place is amazing. The pictures do it some justice as they were what attracted us to book it in the first place! The attention to detail in the craftsmanship is evident throughout. Someone (Kerstin) showed this place some love when they were creating it and we were glad that they have chosen to share it. It was a great hub on the north side of the island for our explorations. We stayed a week here and then a week at the Marriott Waikoloa for this, our first trip to the Big Island. If I were to do it again, I would have tacked on another few days to the trip and stayed a night in Volcanos NP area, and perhaps a couple nights in Kona so as to break up the travel to the southernmost parts of the island. But for rest and relaxation, this place couldn't be beat. Extremely comfortable and had just about all you could ask for in a place away from home. Kerstin communicated with us before and after our arrival. She met us at the property, showed us around a bit, and gave us some great information on local happenings (also there was plenty of literature at the place to peruse for local excursions/sights). I would definitely stay in this place again and will be recommending it to family and friends. Mahalo Kerstin.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND GARDEN HALE

5 of 5
We spent a relaxing two weeks at Garden Hale. Was the perfect location on the big island for our adventures. Minutes from the Kohala Coast beaches and the town of Waimea. Warm daytime weather turned cooler in the evening at the cottage's elevation made for perfect sleeping weather. Matt could not have been a better host. We quickly fell into a routine of breakfast at the cottage, followed by the packing of a cooler for the day. Everything you need for the beach is provided. Chairs, sand mats, towels, boogie boards and noodles. Internet was a great bonus. I was able to work and stay connected with my office as needed. Lovely quiet place for our stay.
