Love at First Site!

5 of 5
This was a retirement trip for my husband and I. We spent a week in Ohau and a week in Maui. It was our first Hawaiian vacation and the first time renting from VRBO. Both exceeded our expectations by far. Our journey began with the clear and concise communications from our hostess. She guided us through the process expertly and made us feel at ease as we traveled from Pennsylvania. She even arranged for a friendly hostess to show us around the condo, which was perfect; clean, well maintained, and furnished comfortably. We spent some time siteseeing as we went to Pearl Harbor, the Dole Plantation and the Paridise Cove Luau. I even went nearby for a massage and facial! Mostly we stayed at the Ko Olina Resort, enjoying the beach and the pools, dinning nearby and then ending the day with a nitecap at the local pool bar. It was the trip of a live time and we hope to come back!!

Great property and location, responsive managers!

We had a fantastic stay at Ko' Olina in this incredible 3 bedroom penthouse. Despite the threat of Hurricane Iselle and Julio looming, we had 8 luxurious and fantastic days in Oahu. I highly recommend the unit and the complex. I offer these comments not to in any way take away from this amazing property but just in the interest of full disclosure. The two lanais are awesome and offer sweeping views. It's important to note though that one of the lanais is on the same level as the mechanical equipment for the building. The view is quite nice and the mechanical equipment is not noisy but it's not so sightly. On the other hand, this lanai is very private so if you want to work on a topless tan you can especially in the early morning hours. The second lanai is awesome but not private, so definitely no nude sunbathing! We had a couple of issues during our stay--the cable didn't work for the first five days and the dryer was not getting hot. Joan and Ron were simply amazing. Responsive, helpful, and appropriately apologetic for the inconvenience. The folks at Ko O'ina were also incredible. Blayne was exuberant and helpful at check-in. Marci, the bartender at the beach-side bar was awesome!!!!!!! We loved dinner at Roys--best butter fish, and Monkey Pod (ate there twice). Also attended the luau at nearby Paradise Cove. We rented a car and drove around the island one early morning. Absolutely awesome, never to be forgotten experience at turtle beach in Laniakea. Then of course shaved ice at Matsumoto. Last comment for the owners--we went to dinner one evening at the Marriot hotel. It was the only rainy evening and so rather than walk back we took a shuttle bus that runs between all of the hotels/condos in the Ko' Olina complex except for where we stayed. Fortunately we were able to convince the driver to drop us off. Seems like a worthwhile expenditure since the bus literally passes by to drop people at the condominium past ours. Again, all of these comments are simply meant to offer more details about the property. We feel so fortunate to have been able to visit Oahu and our visit was made even better because we were able to stay in this awesome unit. Thank you!!!!!!!

Just Like Home......

5 of 5
My sister and I come home every year with our elderly Mom to visit family and friends. We usually stay in the Waikiki area for ease of getting around, but because we had a Family Reunion this year at Nimitz Beach we decided to stay in Ko'olina. What a great decision that was! Blaine, the Greeter, was fantastic at check-in! He was helpful and cordial and displayed the Aloha Spirit we always look forward to when we come home. The condo was absolutely beautiful! It had everything we needed to make home cooked meals for our 2 week stay. (Just need a big pot for Dungeoness Crab)! The kitchen and its' appliances were top notch. The washer/dryer is always a plus. The master bath shower was great for my Mom to get in and out easily. The proximity to Kapolei was great to go to Costco, Target, and Walmart to stock up for the 2 weeks. If you like sushi, Genki Sushi is fun! If you forget anything, Ko'olina Station is close by with an ABC General Store and a few restaurants, not to mention Roy's (Roy Yamaguchi) on the golf course. But we had to go to Waikiki to get our favorite pork chops at Side Streets! (They have private parking). The pools on the property are a little shallow for adults, unless you're doing laps in the lap pool. But the beach lagoon was incredible! The pool bar was great too. We're already planning our 2015 trip and will most likely stay here again. Mike was fantastic to work with. The process to reserve the condo was seamless.
